Effective shugaring: a recipe with citric acid

Today, more and more talk about such an effective method of hair removal, as shugaring. The recipe with citric acid enhances its effectiveness. As evidenced by the fact that once, having tried this procedure in a specialized salon, a woman wants to repeat it at home. So, let's take a closer look at this method of removing unnecessary hair.

The correct shugaring is epilation with the help of a specially welded mass, based on sugar. The name itself went from the English word sugar. However, this procedure was known in Persia, hundreds of years ago. Eastern beauties quite successfully used shugaring. The recipe with citric acid, which enhances the positive effect, is one of the modern variations of the ancient secrets of the beauty of the female body. However, the general technology has not changed to this day.

Epilation with cooked sugar is comparable in efficiency to wax. However, it refers to less painful procedures. It is necessary to note the beneficial effect of caramel on women's skin: it becomes even more tender and silky than after using wax bands.

Use shugaring (recipe with citric acid in our case) at home is quite simple due to the following factors:

1. Cost-effectiveness and availability of this method for any woman. In this case, its ingredients (water, sugar, citric acid or lemon juice) are always in any store.

2. Lack of skin damage during sugar epilation. The epidermis is not ripped off with the hairs, there are no cuts (for example, as with shaving). In addition, there is no need to use depilatories of questionable quality. Thus, there will be no burns, redness, irritation and bruising accompanying other methods of removing unwanted hair.

3. Thanks to its natural composition, shugaring is practically not capable of causing an allergic reaction.

4. This method of epilation is characterized by the absence of any unpleasant consequences, for example, inflammations associated with ingrown hairs.

Shugaring, recipe with citric acid

At the very beginning it is recommended to cook a little caramel to understand the general technology of using this method. And in the subsequent times it will be possible to increase the portion to the required amount.

So, the mixture for shugaring is represented by the following ingredients:

  • 3 tsp. Sahara;
  • 1 tsp. Warm water;
  • 1 tsp. Citric acid.

It is also necessary to prepare the dishes in which this mass will be brewed, and a saucer filled with cold water to check the readiness of the composition.

Mix sugar and water in a saucepan and cook over low heat, stirring while stirring. As soon as the mass gets a caramel-golden color, you need to check its readiness by dripping the mixture into cold water. If the droplet freezes and does not spread, then the depilatory agent is ready. Add the citric acid to the resulting caramel, then remove from heat and, stirring constantly, cool to room temperature. The ready-to-weight mass must be well kneaded to a marble consistency, and then applied to the skin. After the mixture is slightly hardened, it can be removed together with unnecessary hairs.
