About otitis know, probably, everything. The pain with this disease is comparable in strength to the tooth. What medicines will help to remove it? Read about it below.

Otitis - a brief description of the disease

Otitis is a disease of all ages, but children are the most affected. The cause of inflammation is infection. Development of otitis occurs after ear trauma, as a result of allergy, with complications of colds (most often).

The main symptoms are fever, reduction (or even absence) of hearing, pain in the ear and headache. The disease is diagnosed by a narrowly specialized specialist (ENT doctor).

The treatment regimen usually includes warming up (compresses) and - sometimes - antibiotics. Drops in the ears with otitis are appointed most often. Surgical operations are shown only in rare cases (in the absence of efficacy of the prescribed treatment and the detection of complications).

What kind of drops for the ears are usually prescribed by doctors?

Pregnant and lactating women, newborns and people with hepatic (or renal) insufficiency, the drug is contraindicated.

It is indicated for all types of otitis media, including purulent and chronic. Treatment of children requires caution. Up to 12 years of use is undesirable. Dosage is individual (up to six times a day, 1-2 drops each). Usually, the drug does not cause any complaints, but sometimes there are side effects such as itching, rash, angioedema. Children should be used with caution.

  5. "Otypaks" is one of the few drugs that can be used for infants, even infants. In indications for use - otitis media of the middle ear. Drops, due to the combination of phenazone and lidocaine, have at once a number of effects: anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antibacterial. The decrease in sensitivity occurs already from the first minutes after instillation. After 20-30 minutes the pain passes completely. It is used up to 4 times a day (3 drops each). It is transferred well. In single, extremely rare cases, itching and redness are possible.

    Important!

    1. The use of these drugs is possible only before the perforation of the membrane (violation of its integrity). If the release of blood, fluid or pus has begun, the instillation is discontinued and the doctor is soon consulted.
