Drainage well plastic: its advantages, purpose and device

Drainage well is designed to reduce the level of groundwater by means of their diversion from the site and is used in a system of deep (or closed, ground) drainage. This system is needed to protect the soil from swamping and waterlogging. On the site it is possible to equip as one, and several wells, united by drains. Their number depends on the area of the site, the composition of the soil and other factors. An effective and economical option is considered a plastic drainage well, but this is a little later. First we will understand their purpose. The purpose of the wells differs depending on their species:

  1. Inspection (inspection or inspection) - is intended for cleaning drainage pipes, it does not provide for the collection of water. Rotary manholes are usually used . Their installation is carried out for every second turn (bend) of the pipe or on sections of crossings of several drains. Wells can have both small dimensions (315-425 mm) and large dimensions (600 - 2000 mm). Usually such a well is installed in the bottom of the drainage system, at the top points of the site.
  2. Filtering (absorbent) - is built in the event that it is not possible to draw moisture away to another place of collection of water. It is recommended to install it usually with a small volume of groundwater in those areas where sandy or sandy loamy soil predominates. Inside the well a bottom filter is placed (boiler slag, gravel, crushed stone, broken brick or other similar material). The top is covered with geotextiles, then the soil is laid. External walls and the base should be protected with a sprinkling of the same materials.
  3. Cumulative (water intake) - is used in the case where it is impossible to build a filter well and if there is no spillway nearby. It is built in the lowest part of the site. The construction of a drainage well of this type is quite simple. Outwardly it is a pipe with a lid and a bottom, protected by geotextiles and sprinkling. Consists of a hose, pump and fasteners for it. To turn on the pump inside a rubberized outlet. The pumped water is sent to a remote ditch, a pond or used for irrigation.

Wells vary in size and material. They are usually made of concrete or plastic (plastic drainage well):

  1. Concrete is assembled from concrete rings of various diameters and heights. Before they are assembled, a trench is dug in advance using a manipulator crane. Its main advantage is durability and strength, and a disadvantage is a labor-intensive editing process.
  2. The drainage plastic well began to displace the concrete analogs. Its advantages are a lower cost and faster and easier installation. Its weight is insignificant, and all the necessary bends are provided. These wells do not suffer from corrosion, have a long service life (over 50 years), the pipes are connected through rubber tight cuffs, which for decades can remain sealed. The main feature of the drainage plastic well is its corrugated tube. It is securely attached to the ground, since the stiffeners secure it firmly.

Important! In the ground trenches should not contain sharp stones and large rubble!

Analyzing the above, it should be noted that the best choice will be a plastic drainage well, the price of which is more acceptable, and also it is more economical and reliable.
