All your questions can be answered competently and professionally only by a mammalian physician, to which one must always apply at the slightest discharge of fluid from the nipples and chest.

Excretions from the chest can have completely different colors: clear, colostrum, cloudy, white, gray, greenish, yellow, brown, purulent or even bloody. The fluid from the chest can appear both by itself and by squeezing it. It can be of different consistency: either thick, or completely liquid, or watery.

Discharge from the chest: possible causes

• The most famous and most common cause of discharge from the breast is ectasia - the expansion of the milk ducts. It begins with an inflammation that has arisen in one duct, after which it is filled with secretions - sticky, thick, green or black. The process can then capture adjacent channels. It happens that the removal of the affected duct is possible only surgically. The most affected ectasia of women aged 40 to 50 years.

• Excretion from the chest can be a consequence of the usual galactorrhea. From the mammary glands there is a discharge of colostrum, milk, milk-like liquid. This happens when the level of prolactin in the body increases or if there are other hormonal failures in the woman's body that appear when taking hormonal contraceptives, a pituitary tumor. Inadequate thyroid function can also be the cause of galactorrhea.

• Liquid emitted from the nipples may be a consequence of mastopathy, diseases of the appendages and uterus. In addition, discharge from the breast often occurs in women who have suffered miscarriages and abortions. As a rule, the organism, already tuned to the appearance of the baby and feeding it with the breast, does not have time to adapt to the new conditions, as a result, and there is a liquid from the nipples, which soon disappears.

• There are other, more serious causes of fluid secretion from the nipples: it can be a build-up of pus in the chest, closed trauma of the mammary gland, mastitis. With these serious diseases, the color of the secretion fluid can be from clear to yellow and even bloody. With a purulent process in the mammary gland, unequivocal surgical treatment (opening of the abscess) with subsequent antibiotic therapy is shown.

• The most terrible cause of discharge from the breast may be a benign or malignant tumor. A benign tumor is the intraprostatic papilloma. In order for it not to become malignant, surgical intervention is necessary with subsequent examination of the removed material. Discharge from the breast with benign tumors is usually bloody, thick consistency.

• Malignant tumor is breast cancer. It can be completely asymptomatic. It is necessary to "sound the alarm" if there were spontaneous bloody discharge from at least one breast with a simultaneous increase in the size of the breast, as well as the detection of nodal formations.

• Paget's disease - a tumor in which the disease is the nipple. Symptoms of the disease: itching, burning in the nipple, darkening or reddening of the areola, the skin of the nipple and areola begins to peel off, the nipple can be deformed, drawn inside. It is not excluded also spotting from the nipple. During treatment, the entire breast is usually removed, only the tumor is sometimes removed - within the limits of healthy tissues.

To find out the cause and diagnosis of the discharges that appear, you should visit a mammalian doctor who will send for further breast examinations. The most terrible and unpleasant are bloody discharge, so when they appear, do not delay the visit to the doctor.
