Diffuse adenomyosis

Diffuse adenomyosis is one of the most common gynecological diseases. It is often diagnosed in women older than 25 years. About this disease, few know, so when a woman is diagnosed with this, she begins to panic. The following information will allow to learn more about this disease and the methods of its successful treatment.

Adenomyosis, otherwise called internal endometriosis, is associated with abnormal growth of the endometrium located in the uterine cavity. Often this disease is compared with endometriosis, although these diseases differ among themselves. The endometrium, lining the inner cavities of the uterus, expands during the menstrual cycle. In the case when fertilization did not occur, this endometrium is rejected, which causes periodic bleeding. Only on the surface of the inner layers of the uterus is the so-called "sprouting endometrium", beginning to grow from the beginning of the next cycle. If a fertilized cell does not attach to it, its growth will also end with menstrual bleeding.

The causes of adenomyosis are the following: between the muscular layer of the uterus and the endometrium is a layer of tissue that does not allow the ingrowth of connective tissues deep into the walls of the uterus. This process is completely broken, when the dividing tissue layer becomes thinner, and the endometrium begins to grow into the muscular tissues of the uterus, penetrating them deeper and deeper. The growth of the endometrium occurs in certain parts of the uterine surface. In this case, the uterine muscular tissue reacts to the penetration of external tissues and forms appreciable thickening in the sites of ingrowth of the endometrium. Over time, the uterus increases significantly in size and becomes like a ball.

There are different forms of this disease. They are diagnosed after examination and ultrasound. In the case when connective tissue creates foci of accumulation in the muscles, causing uneven sprouting, diagnose focal adenomyosis.

Simple ingrowing of the endometrium into the muscular tissues of the uterus is called diffuse adenomyosis. This is perhaps the easiest form of this kind of disease. Diffuse adenomyosis is characterized by the fact that it does not form foci of endometrial overgrowth.

It is not uncommon for a woman to diagnose a combined form of the disease. In this case, along with focal, there is also diffuse adenomyosis.

Another very common form of adenomyosis is nodular. In a disease called nodal adenomyosis, nodes of the uterine muscular tissue around the overgrown endometrium are formed. In appearance, they are very reminiscent of myoma symptoms. But unlike myoma, for nodular adenomyosis is characterized by the presence of a large number of connective tissues and glandular contents, whereas myomoneous nodes consist of muscle and connective tissue.

The main factors in the occurrence of adenomyosis are:

- frequent termination of pregnancy by artificial means;

- cleaning the uterus after childbirth and stiffened pregnancy;

- generic activity;

- Various operations in the uterine cavity;

- Acute and chronic inflammation in the uterus.

In the case of this disease in very young girls, the cause of the disease is the development of internal organs that occurred during intrauterine development and the inadequate opening of the cervix during menstruation.

This disease can occur without symptoms. There are indirect signs of this disease: abundant and prolonged menstruation, severe pain, intermenstrual bleeding, pain during sex. In any case, if you have these symptoms, you need to contact a gynecologist.

Adenomyosis, in case of timely diagnosis, is completely cured. Treatment - conservative, with the use of special medications.
