Datura is the flower of Satan

The flower of dope-grass has long been used both in folk medicine and in the witchcraft rites of various peoples. The name speaks for itself. Datura-flower means, intoxicating, intoxicating. For magicians, sorcerers and shamans of different poses - just a godsend!

The origin of this witch plant, as might be expected, is covered in the darkness of the unknown. According to some sources, its homeland is the Caspian steppes, from which later it was brought to Europe by several waves of nomadic tribes. According to another version, the place where it grew originally was Mexico. In favor of this says the use of plants in the rites of the Aztec priests. It is unlikely that they would have taken for this a flower brought by the conquistadors. Then, allegedly, a dope flower in Spanish caravels, along with other solanaceous plants (and datura is related to this family) was brought to Europe. But there is no doubt that the dope flower was used by Slavic magi and Siberian shamans long before the discovery of America, not only by Columbus, but also by Vikings. Most likely, we are dealing with two subspecies of dope, one of which is the autochthon of Central America, and the second has long been "registered" in the expanses of Eurasia.

With its magical glory, the dope flower is due to the high content of alkaloids (in particular, hyoscyamine). And it is contained not only in flowers, but in all other parts of the plant. During the cult rituals, the priests burned seeds of dope, in order to intoxicate the gathered tribesmen with the smoke of incense. The alkaloids contained in the smoke caused massive hallucinations, and people were not able to distinguish between the reality and the narcotic sleep.

According to some researchers, the dope was the main ingredient in the preparation of a drink, through which the voodoo priests turned people into zombies. Allegedly, the toxins contained in the dope suppress the activity of certain parts of the brain, and people become unable to resist the will of others and objectively perceive the surrounding reality.

They paid tribute to this witch flower and neo-ecocultists. For example, the famous Spanish-American occultist of the second half of the last century, Carlos Castaneda, in one of his books says through Don Juan's mouth that it is necessary to carefully use dope for his magical practices, since this is dangerous, and there are other ways for knowing the world.

If we ignore the otherworldly mist, the dope will appear before us as a plant of the family of nightshade class of bipartite angiosperms. There is mainly in the form of large herbaceous plants up to one meter high. Some species are used as decorative. Well, how do you like the pot, which is growing dope? The photo of this white flower (often with purple or yellowish patches) makes it possible to judge that it is pretty cute and can decorate your home. If, of course, do not take to heart all the horrors that are told about him. By itself, the dope is safe, unless you are going to follow the path of Aztec priests or Siberian shamans.
