Cultivate feverfew - planting and care will not burden!

The pyrethrum plant (Pyretrum, translated from Greek as "feast" - "fire") is probably named after the fact that almost all of its species are used as antipyretic. The genus is quite extensive - more than one hundred species, eighty percent of which live in the wild.

Pyrethrum is a herbaceous perennial or annual plant, branchy, with single flowers in the form of baskets. The petals are pink, white, red and other shades of this spectrum. Hybrid pyrethrum is readily being cultivated. Planting and caring for him is no problem. The plant is very popular among fans of chamomiles, which among gardeners are many. The flower is very sweet, gentle and grateful for the care.

Pyrethrum - planting and care

Seeds of non-macro pyrethrum, resembling the seeds of asters, retain their germination capacity up to three years. Perfectly grow on any inconveniences, frost-resistant. The soil does not like only clay, where water stagnates. Its nutritional value does not matter. The shadow is also not fundamental, you do not need to cover the flower. Every three years, pyrethrums must be transplanted, because bushes grow very actively, flowers shrink. After flowering, if no seed collection is required, the bushes are cut at the soil level.

Methods of reproduction

If it is supposed to preserve the parental form of the plant, it is not necessary to sow pyrethrum. Planting and care is even easier if you do this by dividing or rooting and green cuttings. However, many gardeners have a different view of the cultivation of this unpretentious miracle. When reproducing seeds, the color is not preserved, the flowers of pyrethrum grow very diverse. Therefore, it is more interesting for curious people to propagate it with seeds and each time expect surprises from their pet.

Sowing

In April, pyrethrum is sown. Planting and leaving do not require any additional techniques, except for the well-known: a box with soil, a lighted place, for the first time a film in order to keep moisture. The grown plants are planted directly in the soil to a permanent place. In the summer they will blossom. By the way, you can sow pyrethrum in the summer, even directly into the soil immediately after harvesting the seeds. True, they will not have time to blossom this year.

Multiplication by division

As soon as it fades, you can divide pyrethrum. Planting and care is also not burdensome: dig an old bush, shake the ground, clearing the roots, you can even wash them. Divide the bush into rosettes, which is also not difficult, and immediately planted on the right site. Once in two or three years, this procedure should be carried out at least because the plants are so comfortable - without crowding they are more abundant and longer bloom. New plantings must be watered, weeded and deflated.

Reproduction by cuttings

Basal shoots, while young, are suitable for propagation during the whole summer. Cherenki root in the shade, cover with a film, so that they do not fade and do not dry out. And in a very short time, pyrethrum will take root. Planting and care and with this method do not cause trouble.

Pyrethrum in bouquet

Very beautiful in a bouquet of feverfew. Planting and care for distillation of a strong and long peduncle with a bright and large flower are needed. The plant loses a significant part of its endurance, if annually to divide the bush and over-feed it and water it. It does not become so hardy and easily falls ill. But beauty requires sacrifice! Here's to you feverfew. The photo is not able to convey this beauty, already devoid of cute shyness. Although how can you call a daisy indiscreet? Of course, this is one of the most moving colors on the planet. And not without some sacred meaning.
