Cuds of the 90s: Boomer, Tipitip, Bombibom, Turbo, Donald

For many people, the taste of the 90's chewing gums has remained in memory. Some are ready even to overpay for such chewing gum, just to return this taste of a distant childhood. And this is not surprising, because in the 90 years the chewing gum was special, with a wonderful aroma and unforgettable taste. Interestingly, it was made without the addition of chemical components. Such a product can even be called natural.

This desire is not surprising, because, probably, it seemed to everyone that in childhood everything was much better. At the same time, money for children was rarely given out, parents gave only pennies for the necessary. Therefore, it was almost impossible to buy chewing gum. For many, buying gum was a real treat. In this article, we will mention 6 brands of chewing gum that came out in the Soviet years.

Chewing gum Donald

Chewing gum "Donald" appeared on the shelves of stores in the 80's. It was one of the very first gums. If you believe the legend, this chewing gum was spread only through the Roma, who did it illegally. And they sold it only to children and at an unpleasant price - one chewing gum cost ruble. At that time, the price was quite high for conventional chewing gum.

Reason for popularity

Gum "Donald" was in its own way special, because she had in the middle of the package a comic about a duck named Donald. This cartoon was still unknown in the USSR, but it was very interesting to the guys, because they have not seen this before. Many even collected entire collections of comic books and put stories about the duck.

Proceeding from this, most of the guys bought the chewing gum just because of the liner. With their collections, Soviet children are obliged to Maple Leaf - a company for the production of this chewing gum. It was this company that managed to contract with Disney. After that, the use of cartoon characters for comics was allowed. This tandem turned out to be very productive and became almost a guarantee of a happy Soviet childhood.

The last issue of chewing gum was in 1989, the party dispersed very quickly. But their place was taken by no less popular pills.

In 1990, Maple Leaf decided to make another attempt to release its legendary chewing gum. But with the liners were, the packaging has also changed. Unfortunately, this did not end successfully, but some time later chewing gum was produced all over the world. By 1990, the company ceased to exist, and no one saw such chewing gum.

Chewing gum called Turbo

The first years of the bubble gum Turbo came out with a very pleasant aroma of peach. The following years also created other fruit flavors, but the peach still remained the most popular. This chewing gum was produced by a Turkish company called Kent Gida. The packaging in the middle had a liner, which depicted popular cars and motorcycles. Thanks to these liners, the chewing gum has gained immense popularity among teenagers and children, who also collected collections and decorated their notebooks and other items with stickers.

In 1995, production was expanded, and chewing gum was produced in three versions (Turbo Super, Turbo Classic and Turbo Sport). The difference was in the theme of the liners: each line provided its cars. This chewing gum is produced today, but by several companies. There is competition. But still on the shelves of stores you can still find products that are similar to the same cuds of the 90's.

Chewing gum Bombibom

Chewing Bombibom is also of Turkish origin. Only production was engaged in another company, which is called Baycan Gida. This type of chewing gum was produced only during the 90-ies, at the same time the company was closed. But, despite the crisis, the chewing gum was able to win its popularity. Chewing gum had a fairly large range of flavors. Most often it was possible to meet a delicacy with a chocolate taste, no less popular was a chewing gum with a taste of melon, apple and, of course, a classic mint. People called chewing gum very simply - "bomb".

This chewing gum also had liner inside with pictures, here the firm was not original, and it can be said that it took its idea from Turbo. Inside there were pictures with cars of different brands. In particular, these cuds were loved by Soviet boys. Also made collections, but not for long, because the corporation lasted a short time. The most popular was the first release of chewing gum. It had a pronounced taste of melon, and the gum itself was well stretched, it was possible to inflate huge bubbles.

Chewing gum Love is

The cuds of the 90s were remembered by another Turkish miracle under the sweet name Love is. It's amazing that this chewing gum has not lost its popularity even today. Until now, these chewing gums can be found on the shelves of shops. Enamored guys buy them for their girls, and children just collect funny comics with beautiful phrases. In the first years of the release, such a romantic chewing gum was of interest only to girls. Boys rarely paid attention to "vanilla" utterances, the only thing that could attract them was the gum itself, from which they produced excellent bubbles. Inside each chewing gum there was a special insert, on which was depicted a young man and his girl. At the top of the insert there was a humorous and at the same time a sweet statement about love and relationships.

Love is a holiday of taste

The rest of the chewing gums differed in their tastes. Surprisingly, there were a lot of them, and at the same time they were paired. It was even very symbolic. Namely among the flavors were: strawberry-banana, orange-pineapple, coconut-pineapple, cherry-lemon, apple-lemon. The author of the famous drawings of a guy and a girl was an artist named Bill Espri. It's amazing that for many years the author did not even know that his works are used for such a popular brand. It turned out quite accidentally in 2008, one journalist wanted to interview a celebrity, after which he became aware of the course of events.

Chewing Gum Tipitip

Many people still remember this chewing gum with a smile on their face. The liners of this brand portrayed an eccentric who had a huge nose, a butterfly or a funny tie, and also was wearing glasses. The inserts were the most valuable. But, unfortunately, the inscription was in Turkish, and, as you know, Soviet children did not know it. But they still found a way to decipher the inscription and learn a new funny joke. The brand was created in the 70s. To Soviet children fell in the 80's, and already in the 90's ceased to exist. It was regrettable to lose such a funny chewing gum with such ridiculous inserts.

Chewing gum Boomer

The name of this brand was marked by a superhero from Spain. He had a rather unusual appearance, his limbs were plastic, and on each loose leaf he always saved someone. But in this chewing gum, surprisingly, Soviet children valued not the picture itself, but the chewing gum. The thing is that it was from it that the biggest bubbles were produced. The taste spectrum was also great - from fruit flavors to Coke. To date, Boomer - gum, which is produced in certain countries, but on the shelves of our stores it is not.

Well, such a short excursion inspired pleasant memories from Soviet childhood. Today, some of these products can still be purchased in private stores. But, unfortunately, in a wide range of them there and, probably, will not be. Although some buyers are willing to pay a lot of money to re-plunge in those days. And it is possible, even some still have collections of inserts that conceal the flavor of the 90s chewing gum.
