Cucumber Crispina F1: description, photo, growing outdoors

One of the best varieties of cucumbers are hybrids. They are bee-dusted and self-pollinated. The last type of cucumber is Crispin. This F1 hybrid, obtained by Dutch breeders. Since 2000 it is listed in the State Register as one of the best varieties for private use and cultivation by small farms.

Features of the variety

Cucumber Crispina refers to parthenocarpic species, so it does not need to be pollinated additionally. The plant has a unique resistance to adverse conditions. This feature allows you to grow a variety of beginners.

To get a great harvest, it is recommended to tie a lash when growing.

In comparison with other varieties, the cucumber Crispina wins in resistance to unfavorable weather conditions. It grows well at the beginning of vegetation even with strong changes in daytime and night temperatures, and also feels comfortable in the heat.

With all the rules of agricultural machinery, the plant is able to give up to seven kilograms of tasty cucumbers per square meter.

Fruit

Cucumber Crispina forms fruits of equal size, up to 12 cm in length and about 4 cm in diameter. The mass of green plants can reach 130 grams.

Cucumber fruits are cylindrical, in the upper part there are deposits. Color uneven, from green to dark green with light strips. On the surface of the greens are white thorns.

According to the description, Crispina cucumber has a dense, crisp flesh without bitterness. Fruits of universal purpose, ideal for winter workpieces.

The peculiarity of the variety is that the fruit perfectly tolerates transportation, therefore it is recommended to use it for growing for sale.

Description

Crispina is a medium-sized plant. He has medium-branched whips and a powerful, well-developed root system, which makes it possible to obtain moisture from deep layers of soil.

The leaves are large. The more light and heat, the darker the color. In each leafy sinus the bush forms 3-5 green leaves.

Crispina cucumber can be grown in a greenhouse. In this case, the plant is formed into one stem, removing all the lateral stepsons. With such management of the bush, the yield increases.

In the process of formation in the first four sinuses, all the fruits and stepsons are removed. The next three leave one green. The subsequent formation is reduced to a partial removal of the lateral stepsons. Formations are carried out according to the following scheme:

  1. Sinuses from the first to the fourth. Remove all flowers, stepsons.
  2. Sinuses from the fifth to the eighth. Leave one ovary, the rest is removed.
  3. Sinuses 9-12. All the ovaries are left, the stepsons are removed.
  4. Sinuses 13-15. The stepsons break off on the first sheet.
  5. Sinus 16-19. Stephens break off on the third sheet.

At a level of one and a half meters from the ground, the main whip is pricked. Then the plant is wrapped around the horizontal trellis and sends the whip down. From the place where growth will be restricted, the stepson will begin to depart. They can be left for later harvests.

As the plant grows, all the lower leaves are removed from the bush.

Seeding on seedlings

The seeds of Crispin cucumbers are best planted in peat pots. This will allow you to get an earlier crop, and also use less seeds, protect plants in the initial stages of development.

It is recommended to use a light nutrient primer for sowing. You can compose it yourself, taking three parts of peat, one humus, the same amount of turf. Ammonium nitrate, superphosphate and potassium sulfate are necessarily added to the formulation.

When compiling the soil, it is important to monitor the level of acidity. It should be at the level of 6.2-6.5 pH. To plant enough space for development, it is recommended to use seedling pots with a diameter of not less than nine centimeters.

When growing cucumbers in a seedling method, it is recommended to plant the plants on a permanent place on the 25th day from the moment of emergence.

It is best to plant a plant in a greenhouse or make temporary shelters over beds with cucumbers. It can be a film, special covering materials. When planting, the soil on the bed should be heated to 17 degrees.

Preparation of soil for planting seedlings

Seedlings are planted in pre-prepared land. It must be nutritious.

Before planting seedlings, vermiculite, coconut fiber, nitrogenous, potassium fertilizer, superphosphate, humus are applied to the bed. The composition is well mixed. The resulting soil will be light, nutritious. When watering, vermiculite will take away excess moisture, and then it will be given back to the plant. This mineral will help reduce the amount of watering and regulate the moisture level. Coconut fiber helps to loosen the soil.

Contributed humus and mineral fertilizers will help the plant to develop properly.

Cultivation of variety

Cultivation in the open ground of cucumber F1 Crispina passes in several stages. At the initial stage, they grow seedlings.

As soon as it is ready for disembarkation, the second stage begins - transplant to a permanent place.

The peculiarity of the variety allows to grow bushes in a greenhouse and in open ground. When growing in the soil without tying the whips are not formed. They spread along the ground and regulate their growth.

Growing on trellises in the open ground requires formation.

Care instructions

The rules for growing a variety of Crispina cucumbers provide for proper care of the bush. To prevent damage to the plant, pests, cucumbers are treated with various fungicides. Spraying is carried out before the appearance of the fruit.

Usually they use means of protection from powdery mildew, rot.

Among pests, most often the plant is affected by aphids. To combat it, it is recommended that plants be treated with aphid drugs at least two times before fruiting begins. Also near the beds with cucumbers are fighting with ants.

Cucumbers belong to photophilous plants. They are recommended to be planted in well-lit areas. A slight penumbra is allowed. The chosen place should be well protected from the wind. When growing plants in the open ground, as a live flap from the wind, you can use corn. It is sown in one row on both sides of a cucumber bed. The south side is not closed.

For the normal development of plants, the daytime temperature should be at least 22 degrees. With short-term differences in night and daytime temperatures, Crispina feels normal, does not inhibit development. However, even small frosts can kill seedlings. To avoid this, you should shelter the plants at night.

Watering and top dressing

Cucumbers are among those cultures that love high humidity and frequent watering. The latter are very important throughout the period of vegetation and fruiting. With a lack of moisture, even the Crispin variety, which does not contain bitterness, can become partially bitter.

It is recommended to use warm water for irrigation. When watering with cold water, the plant is depressed, rot may occur.

To conserve soil moisture, bushes are mulched with organic materials. They not only retain moisture, but also gradually rot, releasing heat and enriching the soil with useful elements.

Frequent watering leads to soil compaction. To the roots were able to breathe, it is recommended to alternate irrigation with loosening of the soil. However, this should be done not by classical methods, but by the method of piercing the soil with garden forks. This way will protect the tender surface roots of the plant from damage and allow the root system to breathe.

Reviews

About the cucumber Crispina, the reviews are only positive. This plant is so easy to grow that even a beginner can cope with it. Its fruits ripen before many other similar hybrids.

The variety has a high resistance to various diseases of cucumbers, which makes it possible to minimize the processing of chemical preparations. With proper agrotechnics, the plant yields high yields.

When Crispin is grown, yields can be increased if the fruits are harvested in a timely manner. Usually, the growth of the greens takes about two days. So that they do not outgrow, they are recommended to be cut off every other day.

Possible problems

When growing plants in the greenhouse, you can observe the fall of the ovaries. This is due to too high humidity level. To avoid loss of crops, it is necessary to ventilate the greenhouse, and the plants themselves are recommended to be treated with preparations for ovary (Ovary, Bud). Bushes must be fed. It is best to use solutions with ash (10 kilograms of water takes three kilograms of ash) or use complex mineral fertilizers. It can be Agricolla for cucumbers, Biohumus or any other species.

Proper cultivation will allow you to harvest high yields of delicious cucumbers with crispy, delicious, fragrant flesh.
