Cotton socks: schemes, description, recommendations

The ability to crochet more than compensates for the benefits of other techniques. With a minimum of skills, you can even tie the socks with a crochet. The pattern of the main pattern can be solid or openwork, and the choice of yarn is determined only by the personal preferences of the master.

Types of crocheted socks

Given the enormous popularity of alternative ways of making socks, do not be surprised at their diversity. Not wishing to waste time, working with five uncomfortable knitting needles, many knitters have developed their own methods of how to tie socks crocheted. Schemes in most cases are absent, as a more eloquent instruction is a verbal description.

Combining the existing options for manufacturing socks, you can identify several main types:

  • Simplified.
  • With a heel.
  • Of individual motives.

The list does not include numerous ways of making slippers, since they are often built on the tying of a hard sole (and this is a completely different kind of product). Exception - if you knit socks-slippers crochet (schemes for their canvas can choose any). They are designed on the basis of a simplified kind of socks and do not provide for the presence of a sole.

The most simple socks crochet: charts, description, photo

Unlike similar products, knitted with knitting needles, these socks begin with a little mouse.

  1. Four air loops (VP) are encased in a ring and knit in circular rows, expanding each row into five loops.

This method of expansion allows you to obtain the optimal shape of the toe cape. It should be semicircular, but not too wide (as with an extension of six loops). Additions should be performed in a staggered manner, making sure that in each row they are at different levels. Otherwise, you will get a pentagon with sharp edges.

When the width of the canvas is equal to the volume of the foot, the addition should be stopped and knit even further.

2. Thus, you need to increase the blade until it is the same height as the length of the foot from the fingertips to the rise.

Next, knitting is continued in part. The upper part of the sock is left and works only with the bottom. Return rows form a rectangle, equal in height to the length of the foot from rising to the edge of the heel. The part is ready, the thread is cut off and the lateral seam is performed. When making slippers, the work will be finished after knitting several rows of straps. But the photos below are just such an option.

3. If it is necessary to make exactly socks, then the work should be continued.

Instead of strapping along the upper edge, as many rows are knit as needed to get the pagolenka. To decorate this part, you can use any patterns. Very attractive looks, if knit crocheted socks with patterns of openwork ornaments. The pattern shown in the following photo will work fine.

The scheme to it, located below, does not represent especial complexity. Even the most experienced master can not cope with it.

Dressing slippers

A wide field for creativity and manifestation of the imagination of the master are decorative slippers and socks. Hook for children (schemes of applications can be any) you can connect very interesting products.

They are decorated with a variety of handicrafts: from funny muzzles to bouquets of knitted flowers and bows.

In many furniture stores, a large number of different sewing and adhesive parts are sold, complementing the composition. These are eyes, beads, sequins and much more.

Socks with heel

The next method of making socks using a hook is based on imitating the appearance of products, knitted with spokes. Thanks to a specific technology, the heel of such models better corresponds to the anatomical structure of the human foot. If you connect such socks with a crochet (the patterns of openwork patterns here will be very appropriate), they can serve as a wonderful gift to a loved one.

The beginning of knitting can be the same as in the previous model (the ring of VP) or it can be in circular knitting around the chain of VP. In the latter case, the web is expanded along the edges of the chain (two loops on each side). The expansion is stopped when the web becomes equal to the width of the foot. Then they knit exactly.

Formation of heel details

Having tied up to the beginning of the heel, they continue to build only the lower part of the sock. It is necessary to form a square cloth and proceed to form a volumetric heel.

Conditionally dividing the loops of a square by three, you need to knit with return rows only the second third. At the beginning and at the end of each short row one should pick up one of the unrolled loops of the square. That is, when working on the second third, you should gradually connect its edges with the loops of the first and third third.

The finished heel detail is very similar to a similar toe piece, knitted with knitting needles.

At the last stage, on the upper edge of the sock knit a pagolenok or several rows of straps (if it is a question of slippers).

Socks made of motives

If you use separately connected and then stitched fragments, you can also get socks with a crochet ( it is advisable to choose the patterns of motives not very openwork). The shape and arrangement of the elements can be different. The most popular are square, triangular and semicircular, since their juxtaposition is most convenient for the formation of socks. However, other forms or combinations of several different motifs are used.

To join the fragments, traditional methods are used: fastening at several points during the knitting of the last row, and also sewing with a needle or a hook.

The greatest number of difficulties is associated with the application of the first method, because to correct the error you have to bandage the entire last row.

Sewing with a needle makes it possible to achieve high strength of the socks fabric. At the same time, the use of a hook for connecting fragments provides an opportunity to apply volumetric decorative seams.
