Corvalol - application of the damaged nervous system

The modern mad rhythm of life forces a person to be in constant mental and physical overstrain. And even those who have not complained about their health before, at this rate begin to periodically experience palpitations and heaviness in the region of the chest. The reason for all this is the ongoing stress.

Sadly, but often in this situation, many do not think about examining the heart system. They just use Corvalol, the application of which soothes the shattered nervous system. But it is important to know exactly the cause of the rapid heartbeat. In case this is not a stressful situation, the above drug will not have the proper effect. If the source of discomfort is overexertion, then Corvalol is shown, the use of which will relieve the unpleasant sensations. Consider this medication in more detail.

This medication has in its composition tincture of hops, hawthorn and rhubarb, valerian extract, peppermint oil, sodium barbitol, ethyl alcohol and distilled water. It is used for stress, extreme irritability, hypertension and spasms of the coronary system.

Corvalol, the use of which is shown in the above situations, refers to a group of drugs with spasmolytic and sedative effects. It is a combined agent, the effect of which is achieved due to the constituent components. Thus, ethyl ether promotes relaxation and early onset of sleep, phenobarbital increases the sedative effect of other components, and peppermint oil has spasmolytic, vasodilating (vasodilating) and reflex action. It is indicated with the following ailments:

- Increase in blood pressure;

- Cardiology;

- sinus tachycardia;

- vegetative lability;

- syndrome of hypochondria;

Intestinal and biliary colic.

It is not recommended to use this remedy for severe hepatic or renal insufficiency.

The recommended dosage is from fifteen to thirty drops. Take them inside just before meals (two or three times during the day), dissolving the drug in half a glass of clean drinking water. In acute cases (the state of tachycardia), the volume may be increased to forty to fifty drops.

Corvalol, the application of which helps adults, can also be used to treat children. They are prescribed in the amount of three to fifteen drops daily, depending on the clinical picture of the disease and the age of the small patient.

It should be remembered that the duration of the course of therapy is determined by a specialist individually.

If there is a need to apply Corvalol in breastfeeding, it is recommended to suspend feeding for this period. Women awaiting the appearance of a child should take this medication only with the permission and under the supervision of the attending physician.

Patients taking Corvalol, side effects noted the following: dizziness, drowsiness, decreased ability to concentrate attention, allergic reactions.

With prolonged use of this medication, depression, rhinitis, conjunctivitis, apathy, impaired coordination of movements and hemorrhagic diathesis may occur as a result of chronic bromine poisoning. Also, the appearance of dependence on this pharmaceutical agent is not ruled out.

Throughout the course of therapy with the drug, it is recommended to exercise special care when doing activities that require fast reactions and high concentration of attention, as well as when driving vehicles.
