Cone on the back on the spine: types and causes

If a person has a lump on his back on the spine, it brings not only discomfort, but also additional experiences. The causes of such compaction may be as bruises and injuries, as well as various diseases of joints or tumors. This suggests that the treatment should be carried out only after an accurate diagnosis of the disease.

Types of neoplasms

There are 3 varieties of tumors on the back:

  • Lipoma;
  • Hemangioma;
  • Atheroma.

Lipoma is the arising cone on the back (on the spine), the formation of which occurs due to the fat layer. The main feature of the lipoma is the ability of the cones to move under the skin. This seal can reach a size of up to 10 cm. During touch, painful sensations should not occur.

Hemangioma is a lump on the back (on the spine), the formation of which occurs due to the accumulation of blood vessels, which abnormally expand under the skin. Such seals increase very quickly, destroying the surrounding tissues.

Atheroma often appears on the spine in the cervical region. The formation of atheroma occurs due to the accumulation of epithelium with the secretion of the sebaceous gland. This tumor does not cause painful sensations. It can be identified by a dense structure and a clear contour. Here's how the atheroma looks (photo below).

The atheroma increases quite slowly, but if it occurs, a purulent-inflammatory process is possible. If a pathogenic microflora gets into the cone, an abscess may start. You can say that it is the open gate for infection and is atheroma. The photo below shows how the fight with atheroma is medically.

The causes of cones on the back

Much more often, compaction on the spine occurs in the male. This is due to the fact that in men the sebaceous glands work more intensively than in women. In the latter, such a neoplasm often appears near the scapula.

There may be a bump near the spine or on the spine itself for the following reasons:

  • Non-compliance with hygiene;
  • Trauma of the hair bulb;
  • Hormonal disorders in the body;
  • Underdevelopment of the sebaceous gland;
  • Rupture of an epiploon;
  • Trauma of the sebaceous glands (cuts, bruises, extrusion of pimples).

One of the most common causes of cones on the spine may be osteochondrosis. In this case, the patient is worried not only by the compaction on the back, but also by pain along the entire spine, as well as by the heaviness in the legs and by the general fatigue.

Very rarely, a lump on the back of the spine can occur due to a hereditary disease - Gerdner's syndrome. In this case, at the same time, osteomas or tumors of another type (fibromas, cysts, atheromas) may appear.

Address to the doctor

Doctors quite often hear from patients complaints that they have a lump on their back. Basically, such neoplasms are benign, but in some cases, the tumor may be a malignant tumor or an enlarged lymph node.

If you find any seals on your back, a person should definitely consult a doctor. But there are cases when a doctor should be contacted immediately. For example, if:

  • Pus is secreted from under the skin at the site of the neoplasm;
  • The color of the skin changed in the area of the cone;
  • The resulting densification causes discomfort and painful sensations.

Seal treatment

Remove the lump from the spine or apply local therapy - the doctor decides by setting an accurate diagnosis.

To do this, you need to conduct a survey, which includes:

  1. An extensive blood test from the finger.
  2. A blood test from a vein to biochemistry.
  3. If necessary, a special test to exclude the presence of an oncological process in the body.
  4. Ultrasound (to determine the structure of the seal).
  5. Tomography (for additional study of neoplasm).

If the tumor that has arisen on the back is benign, it can very rarely degenerate and practically does not harm the body. But any neoplasm can cause moral discomfort, and sometimes painful sensations due to pressure on the nerve endings.

In any case, to stay healthy, you need to consult a doctor and in the shortest possible time to solve the problem with the resulting condensation.
