Christmas tree from plasticine

There are many variants of "winter" hand-made articles. The Internet is filled with ideas of "hand-made" decor, decorations for the Christmas tree and for the house. One of them is a Christmas tree made of plasticine (or polymer clay). This desktop, compact decor - a souvenir is easy enough in execution, inexpensive, but sincere! Here we will tell you how to do it together with your child!

What will you need?

In order to make a Christmas tree, we will need, of course, plasticine. It is desirable to take a green color or different shades of green: so our Christmas tree will look more natural. But you can take a gray (brown) polymer clay - as an option! Depending on the future size of the tree, we take one hundred-two hundred grams, maybe three hundred. Can be useful pencil, scissors, napkins (wet) for wiping hands, face, scissors. It is also important to attach a child to our creativity, so do everything together!

How to make a Christmas tree from plasticine

Take a piece of plasticine and roll it out like a dough (this can be done with a kitchen pinch dipped in water). Now, our "pancake" is folded and we give the workpiece a cone shape, expanding to the bottom. The value, as already said, depends on the amount of plasticine, as well as the size of your scissors. Prepared a cone? In the center of the figure, insert a pencil that will serve as a barrel for our Christmas tree! Thus, the resulting tree in the center rests on a pencil, and at the edges - on the base of the cone. The basis for the tree is ready, now let's make twigs. For this, starting from the crown, we make even incisions with scissors - these will be the branches of the tree. Bend the edges of the branches to the top, so our beauty will acquire liveliness and an original shape. If something went wrong, as you planned, it does not matter - plasticine allows you to quickly fix everything you need, it's a wonderful soft stuff!

We decorate the Christmas tree

Now that the Christmas tree is made of plasticine, we are ready to start decorating it. Here already with might and main you will be able to connect to the process of your baby! This occupation will fill the whole house with joy, after all, doing the craft with their own hands, children will experience genuine delight. Christmas tree made of plasticine can be dressed in small beads and larger beads of different colors and sizes - these will be our toys! You can also use as a decor colored pieces of plasticine, pre-cooked. Do not forget to fix the Christmas star on the top of the Christmas tree - this can be done with an ordinary match. We take a match, break off the sulfur head, stick it vertically into the top of the cone of the Christmas tree so that the piece protrudes outward. On the piece sticking out from the top, we string the star in advance from the clay (so that the star differs from the general background, blend it from red, golden or silvery plasticine). As an option, to decorate the top of our beauty you can use a snowflake made of white cardboard, but the snowflake is longer to cut!

It remains to add that our Christmas tree is "afraid" of heat, that is, it is not recommended to leave it near the stove or radiator - it can "flow". In order for it to become firm, it must be placed for a short time in a freezer or varnished. To do this, use a building lacquer in a can, but an ordinary hair spray can also come up!

Now you know how to make a Christmas tree out of plasticine and make your child happy!
