Chlorhexidine bigluconate refers to antiparasitic and antimicrobial, antiseptic agents of a broad spectrum of action. There are many forms of this drug: gel, concentrate for solution, cream, a set of plasters of various sizes, solutions for external and local use. It is effective against the vast majority of gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria, which is why it is used for disinfection in surgical operating rooms. Chlorhexidine bigluconate completely destroys the causative agents of most sexually transmitted diseases (trichomonads, treponem, gonococci). The drug has such a strong and effective effect that it is used for sterile treatment of the hands of a surgeon and operating table, as well as rapid sterilization of surgical instruments. For therapeutic purposes, chlorhexidine bigluconate is used for washing the bladder and operating wounds. It is used to prevent various venereal diseases (gonorrhea, syphilis, trichomoniasis).

For disinfection of wound and burn surfaces, 0.05% hydroalcoholic solution of chlorhexidine bigluconate is used. The instruction for this drug recommends 0.02% solution for washing the bladder, and 0.5% for sterilization of the hands. The duration of the disinfection procedure should not be less than 2 minutes. When treating with chlorhexine hand solution, there are possible side effects such as dry skin, dermatitis, itching and burning, stickiness of hands for 3-5 minutes.

The concentrated preparation is released in large (0.5, 3 and 5 l) vials in the form of an aqueous solution (20%) of the preparation. To treat sterile surfaces, dilute a 20% solution with 70% ethylene alcohol. The ratio of ingredients in this case is 1:40. The resulting aqueous alcohol solution (0.5%) of chlorhexidine bigluconate is used for the treatment and sterilization of surfaces and surgical instruments. Processing time - 2 minutes.

For personal prophylaxis against various venereal diseases in a special package of polymer (100 ml), 0.05% chlorhexidine bigluconate solution is produced.

The use of this drug is contraindicated with a person's tendency to allergic reactions, as well as with dermatitis. At the same time, iodine preparations should not be used since this combination of substances leads to the appearance of serious dermatitis.

The diluted chlorhexidine bigluconate (0.1%) is often used for general disinfection of various rooms and equipment.

Store the drug in the dark at room temperature.

More and more people are using chlorhexidine bigluconate. Gargling with a solution of this drug can cure almost all diseases in this area. For the treatment of angina or tonsillitis, you can use such dosage forms containing chlorhexidine: aerosol, resorption tablets or rinse. With gingivitis, pharyngitis, angina, laryngitis, stomatitis use a special solution for rinsing (available in vials of 45 and 100 ml). A solution (15 ml) is poured into the measuring cap from the vial and rinse with a throat for 0.5 minutes. The procedure is carried out until complete recovery in the morning and evening.

If you do not have these modern means of disinfection, use an old but proven method: prepare yourself a 0.5% solution for rinsing your throat. It will require diluting chlorhexidine bigluconate with warm water in a ratio of 1:40. When using hard water for rinsing, the active properties of chlorhexidine are reduced. Gargle twice a day.
