Causes and Symptoms of Candida Balanoposthitis

Inflammation of the genitals is very common among men. That is why information about the causes and symptoms of Candida balanoposthitis will be of interest to many. The earlier the treatment is started, the less the risk of complications.

The main causes of Candida balanoposthitis

The cause of this disease are fungi of the genus Candida, the active growth and reproduction of which lead to inflammation of the tissues of both the head and foreskin of the penis. Of course, the infection can be picked up by sexual contact with an infected partner. Nevertheless, in most cases, the development of the disease occurs in a different scenario.

The fact is that these yeast-like fungi are part of the microflora of the body - they can be found practically in every healthy person. Their number is strictly controlled by the immune system. But with the slightest weakening of the body's defenses, the process of multiplication of microorganisms is accelerated, which leads to the development of an inflammatory process.

Risk factors also include persistent stress, poor hygiene, the presence of chronic diseases and diabetes mellitus. In addition, the symptoms of candidiasis balanoposthitis are quite often observed in men with phimosis, because the narrowing of the foreskin prevents the normal departure of the smigma, which together with the remains of urine becomes an excellent medium for growth and reproduction of microorganisms.

Such a disease is accompanied by very characteristic signs. At the beginning of its development the skin on the head is redder and swells, as does the foreskin. The disease is also accompanied by itching and burning, discomfort during urination. Under the foreskin often accumulate characteristic cheesy discharge with a sour smell - these are the main symptoms of Candida balanoposthitis.

The absence of treatment can lead to very sad consequences. Often a similar form of inflammation leads to the formation of sores, and then painful fissures of the prepuce. In the future, damaged skin can become denser and sclerotized, which only aggravates the situation.

Than to treat a candidiasis balanoposthitis?

In this case, the treatment is selected individually depending on the severity of the disease and the characteristics of the patient's body:

  • First of all, antifungal drugs are prescribed, which stop the processes of multiplication of pathogenic microorganisms.
  • Some anti-inflammatory drugs are also used, in particular, they are various ointments and gels for external use that slow the development of the inflammatory process, stimulate normal healing of the skin, relieve itching and redness.
  • Immunotherapy is also very important, as the development of candidiasis in men is often associated with a weakened immune system.
  • It is very important to carefully observe hygiene - at least twice a day you need to wash your external genitals with soap.
  • Also useful are daily warm baths with a weak solution of potassium permanganate.
  • Sometimes doctors recommend treating the head and the inner part of the foreskin with furacilin.

The patient is also required to observe the right diet, in particular, to exclude from the diet fried foods, spices, alcohol, canned foods
