During the transition period, Iveco cars, the producing country of which provided all kinds of support, were produced under different brands that joined the name of the concern (for example, IVECO-FIAT), etc. But, despite the accompanying problems in the development of the company, in 1978 The holding increased production volumes. This growth continued in 1979.

Own model line of concern

To date, who produces Iveco? Country of origin - all the same Italy. The concern has long been specialized in trucks. He started production of his own model line. First a light series of "Daily" appeared. The mass of cars was from 3.1 to 4.5 tons. The model was developed in Brescia. In the south of Italy, an agreement was signed in Foggia on the permanent production of these cars. Mass production of a 4-cylinder 8140 diesel engine with direct injection was established.

Since 1978. The engine began to be installed on the rear-wheel drive trucks of the semi-hood configuration. They were the first light trucks in the world to enter mass production. The basis of trucks included frame chassis, which have a 4-speed or 5-speed gearbox. The car was fitted with disc brakes and an independent torsion suspension, as well as a two-circuit brake hydraulic system.

The 49 lineup included cars up to 2.3 tons with all-metal wagons. Then there were trucks up to 5 tons, equipped with powerful engines with a pipe-chopper. Since the 80's, all the cars in the model range received a pre-chamber motor, which was increased by the stroke of the piston by 2 mm. Then followed a series of "TurboDaily". She received a smoothed cockpit and a similar radiator grille.

In 1989, these models accounted for 2 percent of the European fleet. And the lineup of Iveco-Daily (producer - the country of Italy) numbered 59 variants. Bumper cars to medium-duty were formed on the basis of the previous brands of OM and Fiat. Then the party Z ("Zeta") followed. They were up to 100 versions of models with a mass of 5 to 10 tons. The engines were the same - from 85 to 135 horsepower.

In 1981, a tractor "TurboStar" appeared with the engine 8280.42. This model became the basis for other heavy cars "Iveco". Since 1989, the engine with intercooled supercharging has been used. As a result, the engine's power increased to 476 liters. from. Then came new models of trucks from two- and three-axle cars with a weight of 24 to 33 tons. They were equipped with Italian engines with liquid cooling. The old models were mainly used only for construction.

Completion of the formation of the holding

Formation of "Iveco" was completed by 1983. Most cars were produced under the holding's brand. And he began the second stage of expansion, pouring in himself other companies and creating new manufactures (Yugoslav, Austrian factories, etc.). The license assembly of the Iveco cars was arranged. In 1996 the third generation of "Daily" was released, and in 1999 - the fourth. It has a lineup of 3000 options. These trucks were awarded the "2000 Wagon" award. And the new series of "YuroCargo" got the title "Truck of 1992". The heavy series "YuroTek" received in 1993 the highest award. The model range of "YuroTrakker" has 700 variants of equipment.
