General characteristics

Most of the domestic hunting rifles are made on the basis of a simple and ultra-reliable Kalashnikov assault rifle. Since 1992, the Izhevsk Arms Plant has started mass production of these weapons on the same line as before the SVD was manufactured. This is how the famous "dragoon" turned into a carbine "Tiger", having undergone a modification for shooting with a hunting cartridge 7.62 x 54R. The application began to be manufactured according to new standards - with a ridge and a neck of a pistol shape. Modification of the shape of the butt necessitated a slight shift of the trigger and the safety brace to the tail part of this weapon. On the muzzle of the barrel was mounted a muzzle brake, which is also a flame protector.

Distinctive features

The first carbine "Tiger" had stores with five cartridges. However, the hunters immediately began to note certain shortcomings. For example, an uncontrolled fly could make it harder for an individual to fire guns with a hunter, and the store had, in contrast to the SVD, a smaller capacity. There was also a need for a gas regulator, which, by the way, was in the dragoon. As a consequence, it was not possible to enhance the momentum of gases acting under conditions of extreme piston hunting. In addition, such a characteristic of the Tiger carbine, as a plastic trunk lining, was very impractical for hunting: it cooled its hand, creaked and frightened the beast. Since 2000 many of these serious shortcomings have been eliminated. For example, now these weapons are equipped with a rod fly height-adjustable, half of the fore-end began to be made of wood. In addition, certain modifications have been made to the chamber and barrel and chamber chambers. This was done so that ballistic marks were obtained on the bullet and sleeve, which are mandatory in the US, where they began to widely export these weapons.

Features

Automatic recharging in the carbine "Tiger" is produced by the energy of powder gases and return springs. Locking of the shutter became possible by turning it on its axis during the longitudinal sliding of the frame. The Tiger carbine is equipped with a trigger-type trigger mechanism that provides single shots. Its fuse is made in the flag type and is located to the right of the receiver. The apparel with stems from modern "Tigers" is made of walnut, beech or birch in combination with shockproof plastic. At its end the rubber nape is provided.
