Candidiasis stomatitis: the causes of the onset, symptomatology and ways to eliminate the disease

Candidiasis stomatitis is a kind of fungal diseases that cause many problems and inconveniences to a sick person. Localized pathology on the mucous membrane of the mouth, larynx and tongue. Very often this problem occurs in children, because they are not yet very strong immunity. However, in adults, the presented disease also occurs frequently.

Candidial stomatitis appears due to the development of a yeast fungus. Provoke its reproduction may weakened immunity, prolonged use of antibiotics or other drugs, infectious diseases of the teeth, caries or mucosal trauma. In addition, the cause of fungal growth can be a rather large level of sugar in the blood. It should be noted that the lack of treatment promotes a strong spread of pathology.

Candidial stomatitis requires mandatory doctor intervention, as it may be a sign of more complex diseases (for example, Sjogren's syndrome). It should be noted that the pathology presented is contagious and can be transmitted through contact with the carrier or through the items that the patient took in hand. The symptomatology of this disease is quite simple:

- dryness and itching in the mouth;

- white coating, if removed, then under it are found small bleeding sores;

- unpleasant sensations that prevent a person from eating normally.

Candidial stomatitis requires serious treatment. First of all, it is necessary to establish a diet so that it is enriched with vitamins and minerals. It is advisable at this time to take immunostimulating drugs that will stimulate protective forces to stop the growth of the fungus. We also need to closely monitor the cleanliness of the mouth: regularly clean and treat the teeth, as well as rinse with various antimicrobial agents.

The candidiasis of stomatitis in adults should be treated in much the same way as in children. That is, it is necessary to rinse the mouth with various antiseptic decoctions of herbs (marigolds, oak bark, chamomile). It is also desirable to wipe the affected area with an aqueous solution of boric acid or baking soda. The fact is that the fungus is afraid of an alkaline environment. With regard to the duration of the procedure, it is completely different and depends on the degree of development of the disease, its prevalence and localization.

Doctors for treatment usually prescribe local remedies: smearing wounds with methylene blue, and also antifungal ointments (Candide). After the symptoms of the disease have been eliminated, the procedure should be followed for a few more days for complete recovery. In principle, the full course of treatment is often about two weeks.

If you do not know what to treat candidal stomatitis, then it is better to consult a doctor. Independent selection of drugs can aggravate the situation. Moreover, besides ointment, you can be prescribed other antifungal medicines, which need to be taken orally. They are prescribed in the event that the fungus has got into the stomach. Also there are special preparations in the form of sugar candies. In very difficult cases, the patient can be prescribed even injections.
