Boundaries of the permitted: 9 things that you should not forbid your child

Psychologists believe that restrictions help the child feel safe. Nevertheless, some prohibitions act just the opposite. They lead to the fact that the baby starts to worry, and his development slows down. That's why we decided to tell you today about some things that you should let your child do. For them, this will be the best gift.

1. Asking questions

As a child grows up and knows the world, he has more and more questions. Parents often find it difficult to answer everything, especially when they are tired. However, the time you spend answering the child's questions not only helps him develop, but also creates a strong bond between you that will remain, even when he grows up.

2. Crying

Little children feel all much brighter than adults. This means that you should not forbid a child from crying or shaming him for tears. It is much better to help the kid understand why he cries, and find a way to deal with it.

3. Being greedy

Your child has the right to independently dispose of his things in the same way as adults do, only in his case we will talk about toys or sweets. Therefore, never tell a child that he is greedy, trying to shame him.

4. Say "no"

The child is not your property. He is a member of the family, like all adults, and therefore has the same rights. When you forbid him to say "no", then you violate personal boundaries. Instead, try to come to an agreement and find a way to explain why he sometimes has to do what he does not want.

5. Be Noisy

Do not spoil the childhood of your child. Let him sing songs and make noise. After all, this is the only period in life when he can feel free.

6. To be afraid

Small children may be afraid of a doctor or strange relative, and this is quite normal. Do not humiliate a child for being afraid, better let him know that you are there and are always ready to protect him.

7. Have your secrets

The older children become, the more they need a personal space. Of course, you need to know what is going on in their lives, but do not ask about it under pressure. The trust of your children is priceless, so it's better not to risk reading their diaries or learning secrets.

8. To be angry or jealous

The child is the same person as you, and therefore he has the right to negative feelings. Remember that his willpower is not as strong as that of an adult, and he often can not control himself. Your children should not stop expressing their feelings simply because you think they are bad.

9. Making mistakes

Nobody likes to make mistakes, but even worse, when parents start to abuse them for their children. Is it any wonder that after such "upbringing" he hardly wants to do something on his own?
