Banking remote service - use and development

The main goal of each bank's activity is to obtain maximum profit. To achieve the optimal result, it is necessary to attract and interest as many customers as possible. In turn, the client chooses the most comfortable option among the whole set of banks. One of the important selection criteria is the modern approach. Remote service is included in the list of services 80% of Russian banks. In this article we will consider what the system of remote banking services is and what is the direction of its development.

The concept of RBS

Banking remote service is a technology developed specifically for remote work with a bank. RBS involves comprehensive customer service in a bank without a personal presence.

The system of RBS has long been used in Europe and the USA. In Russia, such a system has been integrated quite recently. However, annually there is a stable development of the RB system. Every year more and more customers actively use virtual banking.

The essence of banking remote services is that a large number of banking operations - payment of bills, receipt of statements, registration of applications, registration of payment documents, etc. - can be carried out in absentia without personal presence.

Banking remote service includes:

  • The "Bank-Client" system.

  • The system "Internet client".

  • The "Phone-client" system.

  • ATM-banking service and use of banking services.

The "Bank-Client" system, or "Thick Client"

The principle of the system is the remote access of the client through a computer program. For this type of work, you need to contact the bank for technology guidance and installation of the program. The remote banking system also has a second name - "Thick Client". It integrated from abroad (remote banking, home banking). The specialized program stores the client's personal data and the history of transactions with the bank. Through an individual communication channel, the client program connects to the banking channel. For continuous operation, the client requires constant communication through a modem or a fixed Internet.

The largest number of users of the "Bank-Client" system is observed among legal entities. Convenience of work consists that reception of the information, display of a current status of the account and performance of many operations is made in a remote mode.

A well-established system of mutual cooperation called "Client-Bank" is used by many large enterprises. The banking program provides for the creation of payment documents, as well as a full-fledged tracking of all fund movements in the accounts.

The system "Internet-client", or "Thin client"

At the moment, more than 50% of the country's population uses Internet banking services for remote banking. Most of the Russian banks are already using this system. Almost every bank has its own website, where you can get all the information you need.

The system "Internet Client", or "Thin Client" (Internet banking, Web-banking), does not imply installation of additional software. To work in the system, it is enough to have access to the Internet. In the personal account, each client has the opportunity to view the data on his account, receive statements, pay for services, and also apply for certain banking services.

For the convenience of work, mobile versions have been created, through which the user can conduct the same operations from the smartphone.

Phone-to-client system

The simplest kind, which involves banking remote service, is the provision and processing of information over the phone. "Phone-client" includes phone-banking and SMS-banking.

Banking service assumes a call center, where you can contact a representative of the bank.

The scheme of processing and transmission of information has several options:

  • The client communicates with the operator;

  • The client receives information using the voice menu;

  • The client receives information via SMS banking;

The list of services provided to the client is limited: by phone you can only get information of interest and enter several types of applications. However, further cashing or transfer operations require identification and personal presence.

ATM-banking service and use of banking services

One of the most developed RBS networks in Russia is considered to be "ATM banking" and the use of banking services devices - they include a network of terminals and ATMs. The level of the most widespread and recognizable institution in terms of the number of branches and ATMs is occupied by Sberbank, whose remote banking service is considered one of the most developed.

Development of RBS in Russia

In the countries of the near abroad, RBS is several degrees higher than in Russia. At the moment, the development of remote banking services is in a somewhat frozen state. The problem is that neither the banking system nor the population is ready for such significant changes. For a somewhat volatile financial situation, excessive monetary investments will be unreasonable. A large number of settlements do not have normal access to the Internet, not to mention the level of computer use by the older generation.

Such innovations as video communication with a bank employee or full transition to Internet banking, we can see in the near future, except in Moscow or major regional centers. At the moment, the use of remote banking systems in Russia is aimed at improving the security system and achieving a higher level of service.

Disadvantages of RBS

As in other countries, Russian banking remote service has one major drawback: it is a security system. Hacking an account and stealing funds from a personal account of any user for an experienced programmer is considered too easy to make money. Despite the fact that banks are constantly improving their system, there are still scammers who are able to crack any security system.

The bottom line is that the bank is investing enough money to protect its data from intruders, but at the same time, customer funds are under attack. This is due to the fact that a minimum amount of money is invested in the channel protection system of the client, therefore these costs are borne by the client.
