Backgammon. Rules of the game

Backgammon is a very ancient and addictive game. One of the main and common options are long backgammon. They are recognized by the international community as a sport discipline, and official tournaments have been held for several years already.

Not many can boast of not even a good game of backgammon, but simply the ability to play, the knowledge of individual rules. Here are the basic conditions, mastering which, you can already competently play long backgammon and subsequently reach a decent level.

The goal of the game in this kind of backgammon is to go through all the checkers (counter-clockwise) full circle, go into the house (the last one to move a quarter of the board) and throw them before the opponent.

It is designed for two players. There is a tournament on a special board, which is divided into left and right parts, where 15 checkers are located, each player having different colors. The right to the first move is determined by the throwing out of one zara (the dice), the player who gets more starts first. If the number of points is equal, then throw the gap again.

In the game "long backgammon" rules allow you to declare invalid the enemy's throwing charge by saying "kestum" during the throw. When casting, both halves must fall and steadily lie on one side in one half of the board. If this does not happen, then the throw is repeated. The dropped number of points determines how many "pips" the player can move the checkers. It is not allowed to draw two checkers by the number per one die. When the same number of points (double, gosh, pash, kush) falls on both bunks, they double.

One field is allowed to place an unlimited number of checkers, but you can not put on the opponent's cage. You can lock the passage of your opponent's checkers by arranging six of your checkers in a row. It is forbidden to block all 15 pieces of another player - at least one third-person checker must pass into the house.

If the player does not have any of the variants of the move, then the points dropped on the bins disappear and the move passes to the opponent. If there is such a situation, when you can make one move, the player must choose a larger one.

The initial position of checkers when playing backgammon rules are called "head", so the initial move is called "take from the head", and it is allowed to shoot only one checker per turn (the exception is the first move, where 3: 3, 4: 4 and 6: 6). In the event of these combinations falling, the first move allows only two pieces to be removed. When the second player has more variants of falling of a pay, at each variant it is possible to remove from a head two checkers. He, in addition to the opponent's head, will be hampered by those checkers he had already removed: in the event that the opponent threw 2: 1, 6: 2 or 5: 5 in the first throw, then the second player removes the second checker also at rolls of 5: 5, 6: 2 and 4: 4.

There are a lot of strategic and tactical methods of the game, but the main thing is to seize more advantageous positions, ideally driving the opponent into a position where he has no moves for some time - "Mars".

At the final stage of the game of backgammon, the rules provide for the throwing of the checkers out of the board. This can be done only if all of them came to the house. You can use the dropped points to move the checkers inside the house or throw them from the fields corresponding to the points on the bunks. If they are not in the senior fields, the player can throw out checkers from the lower fields.

In backgammon there is no ideal version of the move, often you have to choose the best, from several available options.

In the game backgammon rules do not allow to be a draw. The player who throws the last checkers from the house is considered the winner.

Appearing in the East, backgammon became an international game. Existing rules, backgammon received thanks to a large increase in the number of fans of this wonderful game, multilingual, including Ukrainian - "rules of the game in nardi," the translation of principles, tactics and strategy.
