Designing and drawing up a plan of the room has always been a time-consuming task. And if we are talking about a small room or a narrow passage, then the task becomes more complicated. A small area of space always requires a lot of energy and physical costs. Here it is necessary to break your head in order to make a small room more visually. Most often this issue relates to the design of hallways and corridors.

It is always pleasant to come home and experience a state of calm, balance and joy. Therefore, we will make our entrance hall cozy, comfortable and functional. Small hallways are found in almost all houses built in the Soviet era. Dark, small, they resemble a carriage vestibule. But even such a room can be elegant and comfortable.

Usually the hallway has a small space of a square shape or looks like a narrow corridor where there is not even a place for furniture. Then you have to go for some design tricks. First of all, you need to get rid of bulky furniture and mezzanine. They only litter space and reduce it. We will use the principle of minimalism.

Looking for furniture

Furniture should be selected according to the order, taking into account the individual features of the hallway. Ideal option will serve as a wardrobe with compartments for outerwear, hats and shoes. It is convenient in that it can be installed without a back wall and the door opens in the same plane with the walls. On the sliding door of the cabinet it is better to install a mirror, preferably in the whole area. Fans of original ideas can put such a cabinet instead of an interior wall. If the space does not allow you to install a closet, the hallway is elongated and long, then you will have to use the corners. Corner cabinets and shelves will look very effective, here you can use mezzanine. There will take place things not of prime necessity. And on the free wall you can hang a designer clothes hanger. The shoe cabinet will serve as a bench.

Visually expand the room mirrors. Their varieties and installation options are many. For a narrow hallway, where there is no room for a closet, it is better to choose a large mirror. Light design

This is the most important accent in the hallway. Extravagant chandelier does not fit. We will stop on dot built-in lamps or we will select the original lamp with a bright lamp under the ceiling. Floor

A practical solution for finishing the floor is porcelain stoneware or tiles. It easily removes dirt. Such a floor will be durable, and it does not absorb moisture. For a small space, the tile should be used in a large size and laid diagonally. Another interesting option would be if the floor covering is taken out of the hallway and extended into the room. But this is not suitable for narrow and long hallways.

Color spectrum

Very much helps to expand the space game with color. To this end, you should choose wallpapers for walls and ceiling of light colors: shades of green, gray, beige, peach. From bright colors it is better to refuse, they require constant cleanliness. It is necessary to avoid large ornaments: this narrows the volume. When choosing the finishing materials, it is worth remembering that the walls are prone to frequent pollution. Therefore, the choice should be made in the direction of washable or vinyl wallpaper. It is necessary to avoid wall panels, as they take precious centimeters. It is also necessary to abandon the finishing of walls with wood, bulk plaster, stone. All this is unacceptable for small hallways, let alone for long and wide. By the way, they can be visually increased with the help of optical design effects: for example, using the finishing of contrasting colors. We will make a more distant wall a light color, and the rest - a dark one. Then the hallway, having a small length, will seem longer. In addition, will allow the room to lengthen the finishing of walls and floors with vertical parallel lines. A small room will extend the horizontal stripes along the walls. Another option: an elongated transverse wall to decorate with a dark ornament, and a wall adjacent to the door - light.

And one more small detail: in narrow, long and small hallways there should not be small details and objects, and a large number of decorating elements, for example you can hang one bright tapestry picture of medium size.
