Aquarium fishes: comet. Description, photos and features of the content

Goldfish are rightly considered the most popular inhabitants of amateur aquariums. This is explained by their prevalence primarily, of course, a beautiful appearance and unpretentiousness. This underwater living creature belongs to the Karasev family. A very large number of derived varieties - this is what, among other things, these wonderful golden aquarium fish are different. The comet, for example, is one of the most interesting and unusual selection forms of home "carp", and very beautiful.

general description

Purely externally, the comet is pretty much like an ordinary goldfish. At least, the standard color of her is exactly the same. But, of course, there is a significant difference between these two species. The body of the aquarium fish is a comet, the photo of the bark is represented on the page, has not a plump, like a gold, but a flat and elongated one. The fins of this fish are thin, tender and long enough, and the scales are small, bright.

The color of the comets can be not only golden, but also orange, red, silver. Very appreciated are those species of this fish, in which the color of the body differs from the shade of fins and tail. Many exotic fans also have a black comet. Aquarium fish of this color look really very impressive and unusual. This comet has even its name - "Black velvet".

What should be the aquarium?

Of course, to equip the capacity for this underwater living creature, as for any other, should be correct. The water parameters in the bank are determined taking into account, among other things, where the home of the aquarium fish is located. The comet was brought once to Europe and Russia from Southeast Asia. In this part of the world, the crucian usually live in stagnant, clean, not too deep ponds. Initially, goldfish were kept in Europe only in summer garden ponds. Later, these unpretentious beauties began to plant and in aquariums.

To the conditions of the content of the comet, thus, it is absolutely not exacting. The bank for it is a standard amateur, equipped with a filter. Too strong currents the comet does not like. Therefore, the filter should be used with a sprinkler. Compressor in the aquarium in this case is not necessary to install. It is not necessary to purchase a heater for this fish. Comet feels great and at room temperature (from 18 to 30 ° C). Optimal parameters for this fish are considered to be 19-23 ° C.

In most cities in Russia, drinking water is extracted from wells, and it has quite a high stiffness and a slightly alkaline reaction. Such parameters for a comet fit very well. With regard to stiffness and acidity, it is a completely undemanding fish. Not bad feel comets and in soft, slightly acidic water. Stiffness parameters for this fish are 8-25 °, acidity pH 6-8.

It is believed that the filter in the aquarium with the comet should be installed. The matter is that these fishes are voracious enough and quickly pollute water. Substitution in an aquarium with comets is necessary weekly for ¼ volume. Siphonize the soil is also worth periodically.

Dimensions of the aquarium

Quite a large size - this is what distinguishes such aquarium fish. Comet at home can reach a length of 15 cm (without fins). Therefore, this fish should only be kept in large aquariums. With some stretch for a comet, and a 50-liter capacity. However, it is better to plant this fish in an aquarium with a volume of at least 60 liters. The optimal option is a 100-liter pot for two individuals. In an aquarium of 150 liters can be planted already 4 such fish, and 200 liters - six.

Lighting

A comet (an aquarium fish) to this parameter is also absolutely undemanding. Lighting is necessary for it. But too strong a lamp in an aquarium with comets should not be installed. Due to intense long-term lighting, the color of the fish may turn pale. In order for the comets to be sufficiently bright, the lamp in the aquarium must be installed in such a way that several light and somewhat shaded areas form inside.

Neighbors

Very calm disposition - this is what, of course, these aquarium fish differ. Comet too much trouble to their owners usually does not deliver. Keep this water inhabitant more often in a species aquarium. But sometimes these fish are planted in the general. In the latter case, in common with comets, usually live the lamb, the catfish and all sorts of small things (zebrafish, neon, etc.). Planting these crucian carps in an aquarium with very much active fish is highly discouraged. Barbuses, macropods, gourami can bite comets with their beautiful fins and tails.

Plants

To decorate an aquarium with comets, the owner can, at his discretion. Of course, it is worthwhile to plant in a container with these fish including various kinds of underwater plants. For comets, unfortunately, not all green "neighbors" are suitable. In an aquarium with this fish it is accepted to plant only plants with rather dense and wide leaves and a powerful root system. Cambodia and hornwort of a comet can be nibbled. In addition, this fish is very fond of digging in the ground. And therefore on small-leaved plants in such an aquarium the cloud will accumulate.

How to feed

Many owners of aquariums with comets give them mostly dry quality serfs. This is perfectly acceptable. Such food, even in fairly large quantities, does not pollute the water very much. But you can, of course, give comets and natural food.

The basis of the diet of these fish should be a feed of animal origin. You can give the comets of bloodworms, earthworms, finely chopped sea fish. From time to time, a comet should also be pampered with vegetable fodder - boiled carrots, large bran, etc. Vitamins of this living creature, like any other, are, of course, necessary.

Reusable feeding in small portions - this technique is preferred by almost all aquarium fish. Comet in this respect is no exception. With this method of feeding, the color of these fish becomes brighter. But to give this aquarium life, like any other, too much food, of course, is not worth it. Because of obesity, comets can have problems with internal organs, which will lead to a decrease in immunity, frequent illnesses and, possibly, even death.

Reproduction of a comet

Sexual maturity these fish reach in the second year of life. It is not too difficult to multiply comets. Such fish usually spawn in March-April. Couple put in an aquarium for 100 liters. At the same time, the water temperature in it is raised by about two degrees. At the bottom of the spawner lay a net to save caviar. The fry hatch on the fifth day after spawning. They are usually fed with live dust or daphnia.
