Anchovies are delicious

We are used to the fact that most often anchovies are a salty snack for beer. There are varieties of fish that reach a size of 20 cm, and they can be used not only as a small snack. In Russia anchovy has a simple and more familiar name - hamsa. This fish is salted, marinated and dried.

Properties of anchovy

Anchovies are a fatty fish. This is one of its main values. 100 grams of the product is 25 grams of protein and 14 grams of fat. And dried anchovies have already lower rates. Fat decreases to 5 grams. The meat of the fish is tender and juicy. Along with other seafood, anchovies are a source of vitamins and microelements. They contain a lot of iodine and phosphorus.

Application of anchovy

In addition to the fact that the anchovy has a wonderful taste in salted and dried form, it can be prepared in other ways. For example, this fish can be put out or fried, made from it cutlets or mince for pie. Salted anchovies are a great ingredient for salads and sandwiches. In Italy, from this fish make a filling for pizza, use it to make original sauces. In France, the anchovies make mashed potatoes and fill them with onion soup, which is popular among the French. And countries such as Chile and Peru do not consume this fish for food. They have anchovies - this is the basis for the production of fishmeal for feeding cattle and fertilizing the soil.

Pizza with anchovies

Here is the original pizza recipe using anchovies. To do this you will need olive oil, fresh thyme, onion, brown sugar, salt and black pepper, dry yeast, water, sugar, flour, anchovies, pitted olives. Use a saucepan or a large saucepan. Melt it 25 grams of butter and a couple tablespoons of olive. Remove thyme leaves from stems and add to butter. Onions (1.5 kilograms) should be thinly thinly sliced and added to the butter. Cook it under the lid for half an hour until it is soft. Periodically stir. After that, add a teaspoon of brown sugar to onions and put out another half hour. The onion should be soft, sweet, golden in color. Do not overdo, the onion should not be brown! Season with salt and pepper, put cool.

Do the preparation of the dough. Warm water in an amount of 120 ml mixed with sugar and yeast. Let it brew for 10 minutes. 250 grams of flour sift into a bowl, a little salt, pour in the yeast and a couple spoonfuls of butter. Knead the dough. Put in a bowl, cover with a film and put in a warm place. As soon as the dough comes up, lightly knead it to get out any extra air bubbles. Then roll out the desired shape, depending on what kind of baking sheet you have, and put a layer of it into it. On top of the dough, place the onion. Anchovies cut into 4 thin pieces and make onions "lattice". In the middle of each square, add olives and sprinkle with chopped thyme.

Let the pizza stand in a warm place for another half an hour. Then, bake in the oven at 220 degrees for 20 minutes. Besides this original recipe, you can add anchovies to a normal pizza. For example, make a filling of seafood: squid, shrimp, red fish and anchovies.
