Analogues of "Atoris": description, reviews

The drug "Atoris" is registered as a product of the Slovenian pharmacological company "KRKA". This is a high-quality and affordable atorvastatin, which was previously sold only as a drug Pfizer Liprimar. At the moment, his counterparts ("Atoris", "Torvakard" and others) have become firmly established in clinical practice and are qualitative hypocholesterolemic drugs.

Forms of release

The drug "Atoris" is available in tablets of three standard dosages. This is 10, 20 and 40 mg. It is sold in cardboard packages, with tablets placed in blisters. Capacity of cardboard packages: 10, 30 and 90 tablets "Atoris" (instructions for use). Analogues of the drug and generics may contain an identical amount of active substance, but do not have the same effect due to differences in the components.

The composition of the drug "Atoris"

The active substance is atorvastatin, a statin of the third generation. Auxiliary substances are the following substances: polyvinyl alcohol, titanium dioxide, macrogol 3000, magnesium stearate, talc, croscarmellose sodium, microcrystalline cellulose, lactose monohydrate, povidone, calcium carbonate, sodium lauryl sulfate.

The excipients define the tablet dosage form and determine the rate of absorption of atorvastatin into the blood. Accordingly, any analogue of the drug "Atoris" should contain the same amount of active substance and be released at the same rate, creating similar concentrations in the blood.

Justification of the use of statins and the drug "Atoris"

The drug "Atoris" as an active substance contains atorvastatin. It belongs to the category of third-generation substances. With him, a lot of studies have been carried out, confirming the expediency of its administration in the presence of risk factors for atherosclerosis or with an already developed disease. Atorvastatin, its analogs, Atoris and other statins significantly reduce the ability of low density lipoprotein (LDL) to cause atherosclerosis and lead to its aggravation. This is their clinical value, because with their direct participation the frequency of developing heart attacks decreases.

Pharmacological effects

The most important consequence of taking is the inhibition of cholesterol synthesis by inhibiting the enzyme HMG-CoA reductase. The result is a cessation or a significant reduction in the synthesis of LDL. This fraction of lipoproteins provokes atherosclerosis, causes narrowing of the wall and its compaction in the arteries of the heart, brain and lower limbs. Together with the decrease in the amount of LDL, the concentration of high-density lipoproteins increases.

They perform important work: increasing the resistance of membranes to mechanical and chemical influences by incorporating cholesterol into it. Thus, HDL is disposed of, but does not accumulate cholesterol. LDL leads to its accumulation behind the vascular endothelium, provoking atherosclerosis, whereas high-density lipoprotein reduces the rate of cholesterol deposition, but does not remove it from under the inner lining of the artery of the elastic type.

Method of application of the drug "Atoris"

Recommendations on how to take "Atoris", boil down to clarifying some aspects. In particular, the medicine is taken at the prescribed dose once a day after dinner before bedtime. A single dose can be 10, 20 and 40 mg. Because the drug is prescription, it is necessary to consult a doctor for its purchase. It is he who, after analyzing the fractions of the lipidogram and assessing the level of total blood cholesterol, is able to recommend the correct dosage of atorvastatin, its class analogs or generics.

At the initial level of cholesterol from 7.5 and above, it is recommended to take 80 mg / day. A similar dosage is given to patients who have had myocardial infarction or are in an acute period of their course. At a concentration of 6.5 to 7.5, the recommended dose is 40 mg. 20 mg is taken at a cholesterol level of 5.5 to 6.5 mmol / liter. 10 mg of the drug is recommended for children from 10 to 17 years with heterozygous hypercholesterolemia, as well as adults with primary hypercholesterolemia.

Requirements for generics

A qualitative analog of the drug "Atoris" should contain an identical amount of active substance and create similar concentrations in the blood. Provided that the facility is such, it is recognized as bioequivalent and capable of completely replacing the original. In relation to the drug "Liprimar", the analogue is "Atoris", created on the basis of atorvastatin.

Requirements for Atoral's clinical analogues

Any substitute for "Atoris", its class or analogue in composition, should contain any of the statins. It is in this case that it can be used as a full-value equivalent. Moreover, the replacement of the drug "Atoris" with an analogue should be carried out while maintaining the prescribed dosage. If 10 mg of "Atoris" is used, then the other medicine should also show similar or greater activity.

Generics "Liprimar"

Since the original atorvastatin is "Lipimar", then all drugs with the same active substance should be compared with it. Analogs, "Atoris" among which the most balanced in price, should also be considered from this point of view. So, there are similar drugs with a higher cost, with an equivalent and with a lower one. Full analogues of "Atoris":

  • Expensive ("Liprimar");
  • Equally accessible ("Torvakard", "Tulip");
  • Cheaper (Lipromak, Atomax, Lipofford, Liptonorm).

Apparently, atorvastatin analogs are represented widely. Even more of them are offered in a low price category. Here you should indicate the mass of drugs with the trade name "Atorvastatin", which are issued under the license of large pharmacological companies.

If you look for an analog of "Atoris", any domestic manufactured atorvastatin under the license will be cheaper. The most qualitative and fully consistent described is "Atorvastatin" of the Borisov Pharmaceutical Plant, located in Belarus. Here the production of the medicine is controlled by the company KRKA, which produces "Atoris".

Features of drug replacement

In the question of how to replace "Atoris", it is important to consider several conditions. First, the drug must be of appropriate clinical efficacy and well tolerated. Secondly, its price should be lower, or, if the drug belongs to class analogs, slightly higher. Thirdly, the previous dose should be observed if the replacement is made on a generic. In the case of switching to a class analogue of the preparation, it is important to receive an equivalent dose.

Substitution for generics

Among the preparations containing atorvastatin, the most qualitative are the following: "Lipimar", "Torvacard", "Lipromak" and "Atoris". Analogues, reviews of which are few, are inferior to them in terms of efficiency and safety. Although at a price they are the preferred ones. They can be recommended to patients who do not care about the bioequivalence of the generic or do not want to overpay. There is no apparent difference in effects from this, although the quality of the treatment suffers to some extent.

If we consider atorvastatin generics, then it is recommended to choose from among the above. But, for example, decide what to choose - "Atoris" or "Torvard" is not easy. The reason for this is almost complete compliance of these drugs at a price and efficiency. Moreover, their price is often also similar. Above them in quality is "Lipimar", and below - "Lipromak". At the same time, the latter, with a slight difference in the ingredients, is more affordable.

Substitution for class analogues of "Atoris"

The drug "Atoris" analogs in Ukraine and in other CIS countries are also class. That is, the preparation contains another statin, respectively, with other characteristics. It is most reasonable to change "Atoris" to "Pitavastatin" or "Rosuvastatin" with a slight decrease in LDL. And the latter are more safe and have a therapeutic effect with a lower dose.

There are also early analogues: "Atoris" looks more preferable compared to them, although they have a clinical effect to the full. For example, "Simvastatin" is the most affordable drug with proven safety in clinical trials. The original original is "Zokor". If we consider the available and high-quality statin of the last generation as a replacement for Atisos, then it is better to take "Mortenil" as an example. It is no less studied "Rosuvastatin", a generic with an affordable price.
