An example of a feuilleton from the media of the last century and an example of a satirical note in a school newspaper

Many people know the word "feuilleton". But not everyone knows how it appeared. Especially few people know how to write in this genre. The article will cover these issues and give an example of a feuilleton taken from a newspaper of the last century.

Etymology of the term

The dictionaries say that this word came to us from France. Translation of it sounds like a "sheet" or "leaf". And it meant first a short essay, an essay or an article. The first example of a feuilleton was published in one of the newspapers in 1800 on supplementary sheets.

Then, in 1803, the editor of this publication extended one of the pages, separating the cellar with a white space. It is there that you can now read an example of a feuilleton. Usually he wore an entertaining, non-political or promotional character.

That is, the very term "feuilleton" originated in the early 19th century. However, this word had nothing to do with the modern concept of this genre.

History of the genre of the feuilleton

Literary critics also assert that the first example of a feuilleton in its modern sense belongs to the Voltaire pen. Although, perhaps, the ancestors of this genre were Diderot or Freron. In any case, it is known that it was this trio that started the political struggle in the 18th century with the help of short, capacious, satirical and even sarcastic essays.

In Russia, the feuilleton first appeared in 1820. And first he, like in France, performed entertainment in the media. This was the so-called newspaper fiction, the manner of presentation of the material in which had a low bar in terms of artistic performance. That is why in our time some people sometimes use this word with a pejorative, disdainful tone in relation to frankly weak literary works.

Today, however, the article began to be called sharp articles or essays that ridiculed the shortcomings of modern life. They can have an analytical-abstract character or rely on concrete facts, call participants of the event, indicate the time of the event.

It should be noted such wonderful feuilletonists who created works that today can be considered classics of the genre: Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain), A. Averchenko, Sasha Cherny (A. Glikberg), Teffi (N. Buchinskaya). Later in Russia became known such feuilletonists as Mikhail Zoshchenko, I. Ilf and E. Petrov, M. Bulgakov.

In the second half of the 20th century, the magazine Krokodil was extremely popular in Russia, in which satellites were prepared for the day's anger. Sometimes the satire was so acute, so saturated with sarcasm, that those to whom it was aimed, in the literal sense of the word, were bad.

"The thief and ... the linen is green!" (Feuilleton)

An example from a newspaper published in a small town in the middle of the last century, clearly demonstrates how to write notes in this genre.

"Oh how many times the administration of the city S. insisted on their fellow citizens that it is ugly to steal hot water from the pipes that provide heating to the city hospital in the winter. But the residents of the nearby private sector did not react to these appeals at all.

And then the administration took extreme measures. In the water that circulates in the hospital's heating system, a chemical substance that is practically invisible in the solution has been dissolved. However, when the water dries up, the substance acquires a poisonous-green color. The city administration informed the citizens about this, explaining that unauthorized connection to the pipeline is a violation of the law.

Literally the next day in the office of the head of the administration of the city of S. comrade O. Okopenkov, having overcome all obstacles in the face of Zoyenka's secretary and aunt Marusya's cleaner, the infuriated inhabitant Petrova MN burst with an armful of poisonous green sheets, pillowcases, man's shirts and Several items from a female intimate toilet.

Petrova uttered an angry, fiery speech addressed to Okopenkov and his ilk, in which she accused the city's leadership of all the sins, beginning with the drunkenness of her husband, the father of her husband and the father of her husband's father, and ending with the greenery, hung from the terrible ecology in the city, Drying to the street.

All the arguments of the head of the administration MN did not want to listen and demanded a written explanation, as well as a monetary compensation for the spoiled things. Comrade Okopenko AP was forced to state his explanation to the citizen of MN and ... to take him to the People's Court.

Truly those who said: "The thief and the hat are burning!" In our history not only the hat suffered ... "

What do feuillons grow from?

Such humorous or satirical notes are very in demand for school media of both printed and wall newspapers or magazines. But how to write a feuilleton? Examples of modern short satirical notes today are found massively in blogs, as well as in statuses, comments in social networks and in various forums. After all, on the basis of any, even the tiniest event, you can create a full-fledged feuilleton.

Example: about the school and students need a note in the wall newspaper. We take a funny situation: Ivanov Sergey from the 5th class to all offers of teachers suddenly began to respond with the same answer: "I'm Bobik for you, is that it?" Is not this a ready-made plot for the feuilleton?

"Am I to you Bobik, or what?"

"Friends! Be cautious: a werewolf wanders around us! It has quite normal appearance, almost indistinguishable from people. Gives himself the phrase "I'm Bobik, or what?", Which motivates, as it were, the refusal to fulfill any offers of teachers. And right after these words he diligently performs the task. Thus, this "nebobik" tries to hide its belonging to the beings of the other world.

Friends! Be extremely careful! Among us, roaming people! "
