At close examination and now it is possible to consider traces from pits and pits, which left the "pioneer".

Beginning of the route

The river Agura

The Agur waterfall is the offspring of the Agura River, which is energetic and turbulent. Its source originates in ten kilometers from the Black Sea, from the southern borders of the Aleuk Mountains.

One of the ancient legends says that once a beauty named Agura secretly brought water to her lover, who was chained to the rock. In the end, her secret was revealed, and the young diva was sentenced to punishment in a canyon, where she broke into rocks and turned into a meandering mountain river.

It should be noted that the river exudes a hydrogen sulphide smell, so it was nicknamed a "rotten spring".

The river along the rapids and mountain trails very quickly rushes down to the sea coast, bypassing the bottom of the gorge, forms a series of picturesque water cascades. Lower

At the bottom of the waterfall are stones and thresholds are formed, so water quickly moves from one ledge to another, forming a colorful cascade. Not far from the upper waterfall are the "Eagle" rocks, from which a magnificent panorama of the urban surroundings and Mount Akhun opens .

The final stage of the excursion route is a visit to a small, but very deep lake sparkling in the sun, which is framed by steep cliffs.

Of course, the Agur waterfalls are great at any time of the year. However, they are full of water in winter, in spring, well, and naturally, during the rainy season. When there is not enough moisture, the Agura River dries up, and the waterfalls lose their energy and strength.

How to get there?

"How do I get to these picturesque places?" - surely this question torments many. There is nothing complicated.

From the central district of the city there is a shuttle bus No. 110, sowing on which, you need to get to the "Sputnik" stop. From this stop, then the route runs along the bridge, then you should make a left turn, then you will see a fork in the road, which you have to turn left again. We go along the highway upwards, after walking about one kilometer, you will see the restaurant "Caucasian aul", and after another hundred meters you will notice a path leading directly to the Agur waterfalls. Just 300 meters from the left side of the path you will already admire the first canyon, as well as the "Devil's font", turning to the right, you can see the "Devil's hole".

It should be emphasized that after the "Eagle Rocks", which were mentioned above, the natural sights do not end. If you go a little further, you can observe the merging of the Agura River with its tributary. In the immediate vicinity of this place there is a huge colorful meadow, behind which the name "Glade of Rams" was fixed. To reach it, you need to cross the river. The distance from the beginning of the road to the above-mentioned attraction is about 2.5 km.

You can get to the Agur waterfalls and from the ITC "Sputnik", but for the right to go this way, every tourist will have to shell out for 80 rubles.
