Acer Aspire 5530 Notebook: review, specifications, reviews

The Acer brand has proven itself in the budget segment, producing products that enjoy an enviable demand, while having very good performance in the price-quality ratio. Companies always have something to offer their fans, just remember the same Emachines 500 series, whose cost is compared with the price of an average netbook. But this is, rather, an extreme measure than an established rule.

Most fans of mobile gadgets prefer a little overpay for stuffing, having thus the device capable not only the text to type and unpack, but also to entertain the owner with game applications. One of these means is the model Acer Aspire 5530. The characteristics of the gadget do not shine with high technical indicators, but as a basic device for everyday needs, the model is quite suitable.

Design

The body is made in the already familiar for the brand stylistics - a kind of shining decoration with high-tech elements. The model looks pretty decent and its appearance inspires confidence in users. There is an extensive LED illumination around the perimeter, which stands out especially in the area of the turn-off button - creative and fresh, and it pleases the eye, if, of course, you are a conservative to the core.

Despite the fact that only plastic elements are used in the Acer Aspire 5530's production, it looks very solid and monolithic to the touch. Especially it is worth paying attention to the dark gray coating in the area of the sub-paladins, which not only looks nice, but also does not make any creaks or sounds during the work (this is different models of previous generations).

Assembly

The notebook itself is small in size, its compactness is sure to be appreciated by lovers traveling light. Users in their reviews sometimes complain about the failure of the case, complaining that with a point pressure on the bottom of the device, the laptop flexes a little. The same disadvantage suffers and the cover, distorting the image on the screen.

Loops in the Acer Aspire 5530 though seem small, but nevertheless able to hold the cover of the device in the given position, so you can read or see something lying on the sofa without problems.

Interfaces

Already during the first inspection of the device you can see that the model is generously equipped with all kinds of interfaces, even in spite of its low cost. An unusual component for this segment is the presence of the Dock port, which is conveniently located on the left side of the case. With its help, you can greatly expand the peripheral capabilities of the gadget by connecting the branded Acer EasyPort to the port, which is very encouraging. As a result, we have four ports like YUSB, DVI video output, classic RJ-45 network adapter and audio outputs for headphones and speakers.

The ports are located almost along the entire perimeter of the Acer Aspire 5530. But the bulk is on the left side of the device. If the ports are not enough, you can always increase their number using the proprietary Dock-interface.

The laptop is not deprived of modern wireless protocols like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth of the latest version, which provides the gadget with excellent synergy with other devices. Some users in their reviews complain of a wireless connection from Acer Aspire 5530 (black screen or failure to perform data transfer), but the problem in most cases is solved by updating the drivers.

Input Devices

The keyboard of the device can be called not only an element of text input, but also a part of design. The main stylistic motif begins to emerge from the LED lighting, which is located in the area of the shutdown button and continues to delight the eye almost along the entire perimeter of the device, affecting an additional block of the keyboard, logo, the "space" button and ends its move on the Alt group.

The keys of the Acer Aspire 5530 have an elastic and not too long stroke: the buttons are pressed and without any problems they return to their place during typing.

Manipulator

The touchpad has a solid working surface area with specific boundaries in the scroll area that are pleasant to the touch. Its surface is smooth enough and its fingers glide along it perfectly. It's nice that the engineers have finally improved the working area of the Acer Aspire 5530. The response characteristics of the touchpad are very encouraging and the manipulator is quite capable of replacing the standard mouse. Both navigation keys work flawlessly, and the noise from the click does not irritate at all, as it was with previous generations of gadgets.

Display

The base model Acer Aspire 5530 603G16Mi has a 15.4-inch display with a resolution of 1280 by 800 pixels. Familiar for the budget series of the inscription CrystalBrite means that the display surface is reflective, but this is natural for laptops in the low price segment. Also the standard is the format of the matrix type WXGA, which is enough for daily use, although it causes some discomfort while working with several windows.

Some users in their reviews sometimes complain about the matrix Acer Aspire 5530: the laptop does not turn on, the image blinks, but in most cases all these problems are solved after a full recharge of the battery.

With the manufacturer's declared brightness (200 cd / m2), the device, alas, failed. On all tests more than 182 cd / m2 the gadget did not show. And this means that the screen contrast is approximately 192: 1 - not enough even for a budget line.

Notebook Acer Aspire 5530 - this is not the best model for use in the fresh air, and on a sunny day, even include it is not worth it. Brightness is very mediocre, so try to avoid direct sunlight and well-lit rooms (especially light bulbs).

The viewing angles also do not shine with good indicators, and the picture begins to change its colors along with the saturation even with a slight deviation from the center of the screen. Vertical directions were particularly affected by the weak matrix of the device. So to see the photo or have fun with the movie in the company of friends will not work - the model turned out to be very "selfish."

Performance

The Acer Aspire 5530 motherboard uses a combination of ATI and AMD cores. At the cost of "red" is much more attractive than Intel chips and "green" cards from "NVIDIA", although sometimes they are inferior in some performance tests, but for budget devices such a bundle is the most suitable.

The company equipped the model with a Turion X2 RM-70 processor with two cores and a clock speed of 2 GHz. The only difference from the "Intel" chips is the reduced cache volume of the second level (512 KB per core). The processor technology is 65 nm and is comparable with the same "Intel" in the face of Merom.

For the processing of graphic packages, the duplicated video card "Radeon" HD3470 supporting CrossFire technology is responsible. Depending on the settings of the Acer Aspire 5530 BIOS, both one and two cards can work simultaneously. A special advantage of duplicating the video adapter was not noticed.

The basic model has on its board 2 GB of RAM, but if you want, you can disassemble the Acer Aspire 5530 and add one more bar for greater performance. It should be noted that 32-bit Windows is installed by default, so if you decide to increase the amount of RAM, do not forget to put the 64-bit version of the operating system.

Summarizing

Model 5530 is positioned by the company as an inexpensive multimedia gadget. The device is selected from the general mass due to the extensive connectivity of peripherals , the built-in drive, which easily reads the formats of Blu-ray and graphics solutions from ATI in the face of CrossFire technology, which allows duplicating video adapters to increase performance (the technology is useful, but a significant increase in FPS is noticeable only On powerful machines).

The device usually attracts its design, although some conservatives will not be able to appreciate the bluish "path" that runs along the perimeter of the device. Autonomous operation of the device is very mediocre, even with economical chips from ATI, so very often you have to work with it "on a leash." In any case, the price-quality ratio is fully observed - the cost of the device is absolutely fair.
