Accuracy is what?

Most children, having barely learned to eat on their own, begin to hear a new word from their beloved parents: "neatly." However, they really realize its meaning much later, not to mention acting accordingly. And some, even becoming adults, remain incapable of attaining this cherished quality - neatness. Meanwhile, there are many professions in which there is simply nothing to do without it. What kind of specialties are these and in general - where did the word "neatness" come from and what does it mean?

Origin of the term

Like many other tricky words, this one also came in Russian from Latin. The term "neatness" comes from accūrātus, which in translation from the language of proud Romans means "thoroughness, meticulousness, diligent execution and thoughtfulness."

In Russian, this word began to be widely used in the XVIII century with the coming to power of Peter I. Probably, trying to bring the country to the European level and with all his might trying to eradicate looseness, the tsar began to popularize this term in order to accustom his subjects to discipline and conscientiousness.

Value

This term has several meanings. In the broadest sense, neatness is a human trait of character that manifests itself in the love of that individual for order, purity.

Also, this word means the ability of a person to perform his work carefully and in a timely manner, and also to be attentive to everything that she does.

Occurred from this term adjective "neat" often characterizes the subject or person, as something beautiful and worthy of admiration (neat handwriting, neat hairstyle).

Antonyms and synonyms

To better understand the significance of this character trait, it is worthwhile to learn its synonyms and antonyms. Thus, terms that have a similar meaning with the word "neatness" are cleanliness and neatness. The above expressions are synonymous when it comes to hygiene.

But the accuracy in the work has other synonyms: scrupulousness, thoroughness, meticulousness, conscientiousness, diligence, punctuality, and scrupulousness.

The number of antonyms in this term is enormous. Here are only the most famous of them: slovenliness, negligence, negligence, dishonesty, inaccuracy, negligence.

Accuracy as a quality of character

As for accuracy as a personal trait, it is indispensable and very important for everyone. Unlike musical ear, talent for drawing or writing poems, this quality is not inherent and is not due to genetic predisposition.

Accuracy is the fruit of correct education (by parents in childhood) or self-education (by the individual himself at a conscious age). For this reason, the earlier parents start to instill in their children the habit of following their own neatness, the more likely it is that they will grow up to be a neat person.

Unfortunately, even with the cleanest parents, sometimes their child grows disorderly creature, creating around itself a mess and chaos. However, do not despair, unlike other traits of nature, it is never too late to begin to educate yourself in orderly accuracy, it is important only to do this carefully and systematically.

How to cultivate a neatness?

This is quite easy to do, just go to the process with all seriousness. Here the main thing is not speed, but permanence. If a person wants to become more clean, he needs to reconsider his own habits. For example, it is important to accustom yourself to put every thing in your place, and cleaning in the house or workplace is done once a week on a clearly defined day, regardless of the degree of contamination.

It is also important to bring up the accuracy in work. To do this, it is necessary to train yourself not to be late for the beginning of a work day, and also to arrive on time or in advance for business meetings.

The same concerns the very process of performing the work. Requiring a neatness of a special action is first to learn to do slowly, and as a person learns, you can accelerate the pace, but try to ensure that because of this quality did not suffer.

Bringing in itself the accuracy, at first it is necessary to constantly conduct self-examination. It would be nice to have a diary, in which plans will be written for a day, a week, a month and a year. Every evening it is necessary to conduct a short analysis of the completed and unfulfilled items, and also make a plan for the next day.

Professions that require care

The master of his business is a person who carefully fulfills his duties. That is why, ideally, each specialty requires employees to be neat. In this case, more than others in this character traits need medical workers. After all, if a hackneyed dress can be altered, and errors in a book or a dissertation can be corrected, an inaccurate operation can cost the patient life, and the doctor of freedom. The same applies to drivers, pilots, engineers, teachers, pharmacists and other similar professionals who are daily responsible for human lives.

Accuracy is the character trait that every sane person needs. There is an opinion that the Slavs, although rather clean, but not very careful in terms of doing their work. And as for the inaccuracy, there are legends about this in general.

Despite the fact that such an opinion appeared on the basis of real observations, not all Slavs are so unfair about their work. Otherwise, where would come world-famous Belarusian, Ukrainian, Russian, Polish masters, inventors, engineers, scientists and doctors. But to achieve recognition in these areas without accuracy and professionalism is impossible.

I want to believe that every year in our country there will be more and more people following their accuracy in everyday life and at work, and the "prediction" of Robert Rozhdestvensky expressed in his remarkable poem "On Masters" will never come true:

"The world will not perish from gluttony,
Not from the wiles of other people's planets,
Not from droughts, frosts,
Not from nuclear super-
He will perish by believing in the slogan
Good-natured: "It will do it!".
