To answer the question of how to make a paper box in the technique of weaving from newspapers, we must first outline the range of materials needed. These include: newspapers, glue, needle, paint and varnish.

The newspaper and other paper editions, including office editions, should be chosen from a different density, ranging from 80 to 180 grams. Such a wide range is easy to explain. For the frame, the most dense paper is chosen, for the braid - the lowest density.

Glue - the ideal option is PVA, but for mastering the skills and clerical approaches.

A spoke or a quilling tool is required to wrap a "vine" of paper.

Paints - the main is white acrylic. However, in the manufacturing process may require stain, gouache, multi-colored acrylic.

Varnish - only acrylic for furniture coating. It is better to use the one that has a sprayer.

Basic techniques

When all the materials are purchased, you should remember a few tricks of "vines" and basic weaving techniques, so that the basket, made with your own hands from newspapers, looked perfect and served for a long time.

So, to create the sticks, the sheet should be folded in half along the length and cut. After that, each half, depending on the density of the paper divided into two (for a lower density) or three parts (for very dense). To each such strip is applied at an acute angle of the spoke, and paper is wound on it. The resulting sharp end is attached PVA to the body of the rod.

In addition to the technique of creating tubes for this type of weaving, methods are important. In total there are three of them - a straight line, a double rope and a complicated rope. The simplest is the first. For him spread out parallel to each other vertical sticks, after which they alternate around them horizontally.

The technique "Verevochka" looks somewhat different. According to it, vertical tubes are laid out in a manner analogous to the previous method. A horizontal braided them in pairs: one - under the vertical, the other - above, after which they alternate. Thus, a double rope is performed. In the case of a complex rope, horizontal lines are laid out using two vertical ropes.

For it, tubes are manufactured in the above way. After they are made enough (at least 40 pieces), the blanks of the "vines" should be painted. To do this, just cover them with white acrylic paint or use soaking for thirty seconds in a container with stain.

Next, the base under the basket is made. The method of simple weaving makes the surface of the desired diameter. It is worth leaving two centimeters from the tubes that were used in the base. They should be raised at a right angle upwards and planted on them with PVA on one vine.

The resulting preform is braided to the desired height by one of these types of weaving, after which the ends are bent into the last row and fixed with glue. Such a basket can be immediately covered with varnish or, at first, you can set it to the desired shape with the help of gouache or acrylic paints. Once the décor has dried, it is also varnished. And a basket of paper, created by myself, ready to decorate the interior.
