The second type of mechanism is the quartz (electronic). The source of power of the clock mechanism is a salt or solar battery. In such a clock, a mechanical pendulum replaces a quartz crystal. Using an electronic generator with the use of a quartz crystal, a stable, periodic pulse is transmitted to the clock mechanism. The main difference from the mechanical clock is the possibility of placing on the watch dial not only an arrow mechanism, but also a digital display.

Quartz watches are more accurate, but there is nothing eternal. The quartz crystal is characterized by "aging", the clock starts to rush. Quartz watches are less whimsical in operation, are not sensitive to natural conditions and do not require a daily plant.
