ZAZ "Tavria": specifications, engine

The car ZAZ "Tavria" is a model of a car with a hatchback body. All the time he was released at a Soviet factory, which later became Ukrainian. Production began in 1988, it stopped after almost twenty years - in 2007. Subsequent models that were produced on the basis of "Tavria", descended from the conveyor until 2011. The car could be characterized forward by the opening body, the side doors were particularly wide. The latter made it possible to conveniently accommodate passengers in the back seats. Of course, there was a door for the luggage compartment, as in all the other models presented by the hatchback body.

The car ZAZ "Tavria Novaya" is a completely improved original version. It received a new digital index - 110260, while the first had 110240. In 1998, thanks to some requirements of plant managers, the car received more than 300 changes. Most of them affected the technical specifications, and also fixed all the faults and shortcomings that showed themselves during the operation of the predecessor.

As a result, ZAZ produced two cars under the name "Tavria": a transitional regime and an improved one. There were several sets. They differed in different engines. The basic assembly received an aggregate of 1.1 liters, a standard one - 1.2 liters and a series of luxes - 1.2 and 1.3 liters. And the last option was an injector and carburetor power.

Development of the first copies

In the very beginning of the 1970s a large group of designers, led by Steshenko, developed this model. Then the collective was able to realize the new concept both on paper and as metal elements. It should be clarified that already at that time a whole series of cars were made in the plans, which differed in improved details and represented modifications of the original model of ZAZ "Tavria". Among the possible designs was a pickup truck, wagon, wagon, truck.

The power unit of the first specimen, which was released in 1970, was the engine itself, the clutch and the transmission on 5 steps. Also, additional devices were installed in order to improve the dynamics of the vehicle and make it more stable at corners.

The car ZAZ "Tavria" (reviews about it are excellent), which has a body type sedan, has a full drive. The machine is equipped with two doors. Its maximum speed reached 140 km / h. The tests lasted one year - from 1972 to 1973. At that time the name of the model sounded quite different - "Perspective".

Release of some models

"Lada" (also known as "kopeck") became the prototype for the next series of this car. This family is made with an emphasis on the elimination of those deficiencies that have been identified in the car ZAZ "Tavria" (specifications can be read below). The weight of the new model was 700 kg. And, although the salon of this specimen was similar to VAZ, the total weight of the Zaporozhye brainchild was less by almost 100 kg. The unit installed on the machine had a volume of 1.0 liter.

In 1974, restyling was carried out, during which the overall appearance of the car "Tavria" was changed. ZAZ (characteristics of the plant provided accurate) was not afraid to carry out updates, because the machine was already in high demand.

The following year, the domestic market saw a new model, completely corrected as a result of the latest modifications. In this case, the employees of the Volga plant were involved in the work. Just a year later a new car with a four-wheel drive was born.

Release of the prototype of "Tavria" of our days

After the plant began to study the world-famous "Ford Fiesta" car, it was decided to update the produced models. Thanks to this in 1978 a new variation of "Tavria" appeared. Perhaps, it is the complete prototype of models that have survived to this day. This car became experimental - designers constantly considered new changes, invented various concepts. For example, the plastic elements in the car were 55 kg. As a result, these copies were completely ready for serial production in 1978. But everything turned out so that mass production began only closer to the 90th year - in 1988. According to some reports, this was due to the fact that the state preferred cars of Volzhsky Plant and pushed production of "Tavria" to the output of VAZ-2108 ("Lada-Samara").

Production: "Dana", "Slavuta" and the new "Tavria"

The first sales began in 1988. At that time the manufacturer considered his car as an economical and inexpensive model. The following year, the USSR released an interesting commercial that only heated the interest of potential buyers.

The variant with the body of the station wagon - the modification of 1994 - was named ZAZ-1105. The engine ZAZ "Tavria" and the model "Dana" coincided in their technical characteristics. At about the same time, Slavuta appeared. It was a liftback truck. Its serial production began in 1999. In 1997, the last copy of Dana was produced.

The usual basic "Tavria" in 1999 was replaced by another model. "New" was created jointly with the Korean company "Daewoo". It has changed some of the details and fixed technical problems.

Release of the car

The car ZAZ "Tavria" for all time of release was given to buyers in a plenty of updatings and variations. Injector and carburetor engines of 1.1-1.3 liters were used. Constantly changing the appearance, the body, added new functions and removed the old ones, which no longer corresponded to the requirements of a modern driver. The most unsuccessful model was "Tavria", on which stood the Fiat unit. Its capacity was only 45 horsepower, and spare parts ZAZ ("Tavria" in this matter was expensive) provided at crazy prices. These minuses could not completely overlap with low fuel consumption. These copies were practically not bought, and if they were taken by drivers, they completely reworked themselves. As a rule, then they were resold.

After the Ukrainian plant began to cooperate with the Korean company "Daewoo", the appearance of "Tavria" has significantly changed. From Lanos, the domestic car took over some parts - seats, covers, etc. In 2005 and 2006, Zaporozhye plant announced the closure of production, but the complete closure of the conveyor occurred only in 2007.

"Slavuta" continued to be produced until 2011. The van sold well in small lots.

Body

The body of the standard "Tavria" has a type of sedan. The car has three doors. Bumpers - both front and rear - are made of plastic. The length of the car is 3700 m, width - 1500 mm and height - 1400 mm. A sufficient amount of cargo can easily fit into the trunk. It is designed for 250 liters. In the event that the place is not enough, you can fold the rear seat. In this case, the driver will receive additional space - the volume digit increases to 650 liters. Many owners have never complained about the capacity of the luggage compartment, which already gives the right to understand - the manufacturer has not lost with the dimensions.

Suspension

The suspension is of an independent type. It's about the front. The rear suspension has other characteristics. It is semi-independent and equipped with a special stabilizer.

Engine

Carburetor engine - with such an aggregate was produced "Tavria" a fairly long period of time. Its volume is 1.1 liters, and it was manufactured in Melitopol at a special factory. The engine has 4 cylinders, and all of them are located in one row across the axis of the car. Characterize the units can be so - they are top-hat and four-stroke. Ventilation has a closed type. The system closes, passing through the air cleaner, which is a very convenient arrangement. Cooling also has a closed type. A special expansion tank is installed, through which liquid should be poured. The latter can be bought in any store specializing in cars. Also, this manipulation can be carried out at the station of those. Service, but the price is slightly biting.
