Wine "Likuria": types, description of taste, reviews

The origin of each of the alcoholic beverages is associated with certain circumstances. And in this wine "Likuria" - not an exception to the general rule.

A bit of history

There are people who do not immediately understand their purpose. They can for years conscientiously engage in completely different things, and only after some time to make sure that they are interested in something completely different. This happened with the former founder of the "Russian Industrial Bank" and the insurance company "Nasta" Mikhail Nikolayev. At some point, he realized that he did not want to deal with finances anymore. Having gathered around him a team of like-minded people, the entrepreneur decided to start winemaking in the lands of the fertile Krasnodar region. For work, he chose the abandoned territory, which once belonged to the state farm named Frunze. It was here that the winery "Lefkadia" began to be located. It took a lot of time and effort to put in before the team could see the result of their work. According to experts of the highest class, they really succeeded.

And the wine called "Likuria" is just a worthy confirmation that a multinational team, each member of which is a true master of his craft, was able to reach the desired level.

Product range

The territory of the farm is about 80 hectares. This is a large enough area, which must be constantly monitored to maintain the state of the earth. This involved a group of agronomists, headed by a director and numerous consultants. They conducted a serious selection work. Since 2004, on the territory of the farm there were planted about 23 different varieties of vineyards. Many of them became the raw materials, from which the wine "Likuria" was later made. In principle, the range of products produced by the young economy is relatively small. It includes only two main names: Lefkadia and Likuria. And it's only dry wines. Each of them has its own line of tastes. The wine "Likuriya" is represented by the following four main types:

  • White;
  • Red;
  • "Reserve" is white;
  • "Reserve" is red.

By basic characteristics these drinks are very similar. The difference between them is only in the variety of grapes, which is used for production and is the basis of individual taste and aroma.

Strict classification

The one who will look for sweet wine in the price of this company will waste time. He's not there. Virtually the entire range is represented exclusively by dry wines. This was the main goal. The whole process goes by natural way, without any outside interference from outside. As you know, sweet wine is made from the most ripe grape berries, exposing them in the production process:

  • Freezing and subsequent removal from the mixture;
  • Blending;
  • Interruption of the fermentation stage;
  • Zaizyumlivaniyu;
  • Infection with a special kind of mold.

Such methods are widely used in winemaking.

But in this case the technology is designed for full fermentation of prepared wort, after which only 0.3% of sugar remains in the finished product. This is the classic dry wine. It belongs to the category of dining rooms or, as many believe, natural. By the way, recently there has been an increased demand for such products.

Red wine

There are some connoisseurs who believe that the preferred line is "Likuria" red. To agree with this opinion or refute it, you need to learn as much as possible about the product itself.

To begin with, it should be noted that two varieties of berries were used as raw materials for its production: Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon in the ratio 1: 1. Due to the pronounced pigment, the drink received a rich ruby shade. In the glass, the product sparkles, which gives a feeling of crystal transparency. In the taste there are pronounced notes of red plum and ripe cherries. Such a pleasant combination is complemented by slightly perceptible shades of dried fruits and thin notes of vanilla. This fully corresponds to the idea of the author. The wine is made in light fruit style and perfectly suits as a drink for every day. The strength of the product is 14 percent, which fully corresponds to its classification. The drink has a light acidity in taste, which pleasantly shades fruit aromas and gives a refreshing effect.

The price of pleasure

Almost all the wines of the Lefkadia farm are bottled in dark glass bottles with a capacity of 0.75 liters and are sealed with a natural stopper. In the sales network the product comes most often from the direct producer. This allows the seller to be confident in the quality and reliability of the goods. How much can the wine "Likuriya" cost? The price usually depends on three factors:

  1. Type of drink (white or red).
  2. Harvest (year of harvesting and manufacturing).
  3. Trade object.

However, it is not so easy to find this wine in stores. A drink of each name is made only a few thousand bottles a year. Nevertheless, depending on the date of bottling the cost of one copy can cost the buyer from 320 to 1700 rubles. The runaway is large enough, but this is understandable. So, for example, in 2012 there was a very good harvest. The absence of drought allowed the berries to ripen well. This affected the quality of the finished product, and hence its price. Usually the red "Likuria" this year costs at least 500 rubles.

Customer Reviews

There are many people who really like the Likuria wine. The reviews of many of them are partly similar to each other.

All of them emphasize the successful combination of a pleasant taste and a delicate aroma. The balance of the shades suggests that the bouquet of the drink is very well thought out. This is a great merit of leading experts of winemaking with a worldwide reputation: Patrick Leon and Gilles Rey. It was they who helped to realize such an unprecedented project with their knowledge. Drinks turned out very bright and expressive. For example, white Likuria is quite popular. For its production is used grape Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay in the ratio 1: 3. The result is a product of amazing golden color. An unusual taste is determined by delicate citrus notes with a pleasant herbaceous tinge. This drink acts refreshingly. In addition, it can be served to the table with a bird, hot dishes and various meat appetizers.

Cooking process

The production of wine deserves special attention. After all, technology is what determines the future product. First of all, it should be noted that "Likuria", like any other dry wine, is produced by natural fermentation of raw materials.

The production shops are in close proximity to the vineyards themselves. This allows you to maximize the harvest and avoid undesirable losses. The whole process takes place in several stages:

  1. First fresh berries are cooled in special chambers up to 4-8 degrees for the best extraction.
  2. Then the raw material passes double sorting, which is carried out manually.
  3. After that, the raw material is crushed.
  4. The resulting mass is fed to the press, where more than 60 percent of the juice is extracted from it in a gentle mode.
  5. Then the raw materials are fermented, and then the product enters the bottling line. This kind of wine excludes the stage of aging.

It is interesting that the wine material from one stage to another comes without the help of any injection systems. Everything happens almost by gravity. This is a unique feature of the equipment used at the enterprise. The line operates on the principle of gravity, which allows the product not to lose its original qualities. In addition, the unique line is completely isolated from the external environment. This improves the organoleptic properties of the product and attracts a keen interest of both specialists and ordinary buyers.
