Who is a psychologist-educator?

For many years now such a position as a psychologist-teacher has been in schools, kindergartens, hospitals and even official institutions. This practice is practiced by people, psychologists by education, who in some ways have medical knowledge and pedagogical knowledge. Often in large groups there are problems of a different kind, which not everyone can solve. Similar incidents may be peculiar to people with a narrow circle of communication.

So, the psychologist-teacher is most often invited to kindergartens and schools. Such a specialist is necessary for children, so that he channeled their spiritual development, established moral values, solved existential problems, and also eliminated possible tendencies towards personality disorder. In any team, the psychologist-educator works to improve the microclimate and any interactions between its participants, build relationships, and eliminate conflicts. The psychological analysis is also mandatory.

However, the activity of a psychologist is not limited to such analytical studies and lectures that normalize the "weather" in society. Often it happens that in one class (group, team), in principle, the work goes on as usual, but an individual feels some discomfort. It can be connected with relations with other members of society, with the acceptance of oneself and one's duties, with internal adaptation and so on. Thus, the psychologist-educator provides a reliable protection of the psychological health of each child in the class, each employee in the team to which he is invited. Also a specialist of this kind (in particular one who works in children's institutions) contributes to the personal development of each child.

The principle of the work of such an important specialist deserves special attention. As a rule, the program of the teacher-psychologist is closely connected with the school course, the subjects and activities that the children study in the gardens, with the direction of activity that is characteristic of the particular organization. During the analysis, numerous tests and seminars conducted by psychologists in the community, it becomes clear the competence of each employee directly in a particular field of activity, the ability of a student to perceive information, the features of his thinking and makings. As a rule, it is the psychologist-educator who indirectly forms classes: mathematical, humanitarian, and musical.

Being in the school team, the "engineer of the children's shower" should take into account the process of growing up the students. For each age category, a separate program is developed, which is linked with the knowledge that is given in the lessons, and with the features of the development of the nervous system. For example, first-graders are easily "read" by a psychologist according to their drawings, applications, and also in a manner to conduct notebooks. Looking at these attributes, the expert immediately reveals many features of personality, temperament and even the preferences of the ward. Later, children are asked to undergo psychological tests and trainings in which it is necessary to answer questions, present themselves in various situations and conduct their own research.
