Indeed, the birthplace of bananas is Malaysia. This state is located in Southeast Asia. Although not behind the Malaysia for the production and consumption of bananas and Africa.

The Egyptians faithfully believed in the healing power of bananas, and in Asia they were even considered sacred. Some Indian pagodas still have rooftops in the form of bananas.

Mostly we know yellow bananas. But where do bananas of red, golden and black flowers grow? This question, perhaps, will be more difficult. Not everyone knows that only in the Seychelles can you enjoy these exotic side dishes that are served to seafood.

But the most interesting fact about the answer to the question: "Where do bananas grow?" Is that bananas do not grow on palm trees, as many believe! And in general, they do not even ripen on a tree, because this plant of botany is considered to be grass.

Yes, yes, bananas are a giant grass with a stem of wood type, and its fruits are berries, not fruits! After the seeds ripen, the plant dies, which is never the case with trees. But almost immediately from the root, a little further from the former place, another plant begins to grow. And this happens all the time, as a result of which the "banana palm" moves. Here on such a "walking tree" the bananas habitual for all of us grow today.

We can not grow bananas at home, because those varieties that import to us do not have seeds. In addition, bananas require pollination by bats of a certain species, which are extremely rare. Today pollination of bananas is done manually by plant growers and requires special adaptations and skills.

As for the mandarins, our compatriots achieved some success in their "domestication". Some amateurs have adapted to grow them in indoor conditions or in greenhouses. Of course, fruits are not as delicious as those that are ripe in their homeland.

And then a counter question arises: where do mandarins grow in nature? They consider the homeland of mandarins to be China. From there they were brought to all other countries. And since the mandarins are not so whimsical as the rest of the southern plants, very soon the area of their growth significantly expanded.

Greece and Turkey, Spain and Italy "tamed" this beautiful tree, giving tasty and fragrant orange fruits.

Spain "gave" the mandarins of Morocco, and Turkey - Georgia. Today they are growing in France, Algeria, Argentina, Transcaucasia, India and Vietnam.

Very fond of delicious and healthy nuts called "pistachios" today. They are photophilous and resistant to arid climates, but they can withstand the temperature dropping to -25 degrees. Therefore, pistachios are widely distributed in the Mediterranean and Asia, as well as in Northeast Africa.

And where are the pistachios growing? It is known that in Central America and in Texas there are two kinds of these walnut trees.

Some amateurs are trying to grow pistachios in the central part of Russia. But our climate presupposes a winter temperature, which goes down much lower than the one that this plant can withstand. Therefore, they can be planted only in greenhouses.
