In the list of Russian national festivals in 1998, the Mother's Day was first introduced, the number of which is celebrated at the end of November. Initially, it was customary to celebrate it on the last Sunday of the month of November, and so far this tradition has survived. Celebrate it decided, because there is no one more important in life than mom. And the most important person in life deserves at least one date in the calendar.

Mother's day, we can say, originates in the honoring by the ancient Greeks of the goddess Gaia, who was revered for being the mother of all the gods, and also in the tradition of celebrating by the Romans the goddess Cybele, who was the patroness of Ancient Rome.

In the Middle Ages, when children almost from the diapers went to work, every family meeting was like a holiday: a happy atmosphere reigned and a "mother's cake" was prepared - the most delicious cake in the world.

By the middle of the 17th century, the memory of this day gradually disappeared, and in 18 completely lost its memory from the burdens of people burdened with grave concerns.

The Second World War served as a revival in the US of ancient traditions, and Mother's Day was first proclaimed in 1914.

When Mother's Day is celebrated in Russia, it's like a reminder that the Russian attitude to motherhood is the most tender, that the Russians are not "insensitive chunks". This holiday is able to unite all layers of modern society, promote mutual understanding of all nationalities and force the government to look differently at the importance of motherhood in the country.
