When is Forest Day marked?

Forests occupy the third part of the land on the planet. This natural wealth is a guarantee of ecological stability, the basis of the economy and an important part of the national economy of the country. Careful preservation of the national treasure is the task of all citizens in general and foresters in particular. The day of the forester, which is celebrated on the third Sunday of September, underscores the importance of forest lands.

From the history

Forest thickets revered in ancient times. The religion of the Druids is based on the symbolism of trees, grasses and shrubs. Slavic pagans animated trees, worshiped their spirits. The Romans had a holiday of Lucary, which is similar to our Trinity. On this day they sang songs, pronounced spells and dreamed of good. In Italy there is a Day of the Tree Day, which is similar to the Day of the Forester.

All these solemn dates call for the preservation of trees from ruthless destruction. This is especially true today, because the whole world has already thought about the ecological situation and possible catastrophes.

In 1977, the USSR adopted the "Forest Legislation" for the protection and expansion of forests throughout the country. Three years later, the decree "On Festive and Memorable Days" established the Day of the Forester, which is celebrated by people associated with forestry: yegeri, foresters, all forestry workers.

A solemn day is celebrated not only in our country, but also in neighboring countries: Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus.

Who is the forester

The forester is a forestry worker, behind which a specific area of the massif is fixed with its plantings, structures, structures and other property. This post is accepted by persons who have been trained in a specialized educational institution or at courses. An employee should be able to:

  • Detect, extinguish and prevent fires;
  • Protect the array from unauthorized felling;
  • Protect trees from pests and diseases;
  • Protect animals, their habitats;
  • Carry out forestry work.

The day of the forester shows the importance of a difficult profession and calls citizens into the ranks of forest workers. This date in our time is simply necessary, as the forest area is constantly shrinking. The work of the forester is especially important, since it not only protects the land from illegal logging or hunting, but also participates in the planting of new massifs, controls the health of plants and trees, maintains watch posts in good order. Forestry is in the first place among the nature protection systems of the state.

Day of the forester: the date of the holiday

The solemn date does not have a fixed number, but is set as the third Sunday of September. Every year the foresters gather together in autumn, exchange experiences, listen to speeches and congratulations from the administration staff. Relatives and friends cover a rich table. At the end of September, the forest is very beautiful, so even in the shower a holiday mood is created.

Day of the forester in 2013 was held on September 15. It was celebrated solemnly by all workers associated with forestry: loggers, specialists in pulp and paper mills, inspectors and representatives of related professions. In 2014, the holiday falls on September 21.

Everyone knows the slogan "Take care of the forest!". All residents of the country should listen to these words and think about how they behave in the forest, because we need clean air, berries, mushrooms, and just a place to relax.
