We make a network cable with our own hands

I think everyone knows what a network cable is for. With it, you can merge two computers directly or connect to the network. In this article I want to tell you how you can make a network cable with your own hands. It's very simple, even without a crimper. To do this, suitable tools, available at home for everyone.

So, prepare the hacksaw blade, hammer and pliers. Then cut off the network cable, which is also called a twisted pair, to the length you need. Stock up the RJ-45 connectors. I advise you to buy more than necessary, because there is no guarantee that you will be able to compress the connector from the first time, and they are disposable. All this is available in the markets and in the radio shops.

Once you have everything ready, we are determined with the option of crimping. It can be direct, or can be crossed. The first option is used when you need to connect the device with a hub or switch. The second option is to connect one computer to another directly.

Take the network cable and remove one end of one centimeter of insulation from one end. After that, you will see eight veins. Their winding is not necessary to remove. Depending on the crimp option, arrange them in the required sequence, then trim and trim. Now in this position, insert the network cable into the connector.

Take the pliers and fix them connector for a plastic tail. For the convenience of the procedure, ask someone to help you. So it will be easier for you to carry out further actions. Next, take the hacksaw blade and with it, put each contact in its place. Do this carefully so that each vein is firmly pressed. The half-millimeter canvas is the best for this.

Make sure that it is applied clearly to the contact. Otherwise, you can touch and break a plastic partition separating the contacts from each other. If this still happens, then gently return it to its original position.

Our next task is to fix our connector on the cable itself. There is a special clamp on the connector. Press down on it with a screwdriver, and after that it will be motionless. This completes the crimping. Now you need to make sure the wire is working. For this purpose, any Chinese tester is suitable.

Attach one probe to the bare strand from one side, and the other to the corresponding contact. If the tester squeaks, there is a contact. Repeat this procedure for each conductor. If everything is OK, crimp the connector from the opposite side of the cable in the same way. When finished, check the tester and the other side.

Is the cable working? Excellent. Laying the network cable in your room will depend only on your imagination. Try to make it so that it can not be seen. On the one hand, this does not disturb the aesthetic appearance of the room, on the other - you completely exclude the possibility of its mechanical damage. This is especially true if you have pets that like to gnaw such wires. On this I have everything.
