Water cooling by hands at home

Buy ready - expensive, and not everyone can afford it. It is much easier to purchase the necessary parts and do everything yourself. The Internet describes a variety of different ways, but we will focus on the most optimal of them (in my opinion).

The main task is to remove the cooling radiator together with the pump and the expansion tank to the balcony. In order for the water cooling of the computer to work effectively, it is necessary to transfer the computer to the nearest corner to the balcony. Using a puncher, you need to drill two holes into which two hoses are pierced. One of them will be a supply hose, and the other will be a "return". Still need to hold on the balcony cable 12V from the computer power supply.

Further, water cooling by one's own hands requires the following actions. This will be the connection of the water block with the expansion tank. We fasten both to that and to the other fitting with the help of FUM tape. In the drilled holes we pass the cable and hoses. With the help of thermo-foam they are put on the radiator, they can be put on a pump with a water-block and a surge tank even without a hair dryer. If you miss the connection with silicone, it will be just fine. All hoses are clamped with the help of automotive clamps. In total, they will need six pieces.

That water cooling by own hands was more effective, I advise to fill in it automobile antifreeze as a cooling liquid. All the accessories that are on the balcony, it is better to place in the made semi-box. The material is suitable advertising plastic, which is connected with the help of super-glue.

Now you need to put the hoses in the computer case. This is done through the back wall by removing the plugs. The water block needs to be greased with thermal paste, then fasten it to the processor. Everything, water cooling with your own hands is ready!

This system has been working with me for three months without any complaints. But it will be fair to notice that at first I installed transparent hoses made of silicone, and instead of antifreeze, the system was filled with distilled water. After a month of operation, the water became rusty, and the pipes, due to their flexibility, completely leaned over. After that, it was decided to replace all silicone nipples with reinforced ones, while the system was completely washed. Corrosion appeared as a result of contact of the radiator with water.

After the upgrade, this water cooling by its own hands ensures the temperature of the processor within 25 degrees Celsius. And when the street is cold and open the balcony window for airing, the processor does not heat above 15 degrees.

Of course, such water cooling by one's own hands has one more advantage. When buying a new computer, you do not have to make any drastic changes to its cooling system. All the main elements will be on your balcony. Use your health!
