VAZ-21053 Zhiguli is an improved model based on VAZ-2105. Rear-wheel drive four-door sedan was developed in Togliatti, at the Volzhsky factory. In fact, the car repeated all the characteristics and parameters of the "five", except for a more powerful engine and a difference in the length of the body. The car VAZ-21053, the photo of which is presented, was longer by 17 millimeters.

Inexpensive model of "AvtoVAZ"

In 2008-2009, the car was considered the cheapest on the Russian market. For reasons of the conjuncture, prices were steadily declining, as demand for the car was insignificant. Chassis

The front suspension of the VAZ-21053 is two independent units (left and right), consisting of profiled stamped levers that are attached to the transverse beam with the help of silent blocks. The extremities of the arms are connected to the pivot pin by means of ball supports. Each pair of levers rests on a steel spiral spring, which by its upper ring enters a special socket, mounted in the sidewalls of the engine compartment. In the middle of the helix, a hydraulic shock absorber is installed. Both lever units are interconnected by a bar that dampens vibrations and provides transverse stability of the car.

The rear suspension of the pendulum structure consists of longitudinal levers that connect the bottom of the body to the beam of the bridge. A component part is also spring spirals, together with shock absorbers. Transverse stability of the car provides a special beam stabilizer, located behind the rear axle.

Brake system

The VAZ-21053 model was equipped with an efficient dual-circuit hydraulics. From the central brake cylinder, pressure was applied to the front and rear wheels in a separate circuit. One pipeline connected the cylinder with the left front and right rear wheel, and the other - the left rear wheel with the right front. This separation ensured braking when one of the circuits failed.

The front brakes, disc unventilated pads, were driven by a caliper, covering the brake disc on both sides. Pistons were equipped with special rubber seal rings, returning them to their original position after each depression of the brake pedal.

Rear brakes, drum type, consisted of two self-adjusting shoes, driven by a hydraulic cylinder. In the original position, the pads returned under the action of a spring. The design also included a manual brake mechanism, controlled from the passenger compartment. The lever of the "handbrake" was in the cabin, between the front seats.

Since 1999, the car market in Russia began a collapse in prices caused by the 1998 default. Model VAZ-21053, whose engine left much to be desired in terms of the parameters of the gas distribution mechanism and some other characteristics, also suffered from instability of market conditions. Shops, selling cars, one by one, refused to supply. The demand for a VAZ-21053 car, the technical characteristics of which were not updated for years, was moderate, starting from 2000 and until the production was closed in 2009. After the minicar "Oka" was removed from production in November 2008, "Lada-2105" and all its modifications became the cheapest cars on the Russian market.

Recycling program

The car did not use demand, and the manufacturer has already begun to suffer losses. The situation was leveled after the introduction of the recycling program, when the owner of the old machine received 50,000 rubles from the state as compensation for its remelting. During this period, all models of AvtoVAZ, including the VAZ-21053, again became popular. The prices have risen, and then balancing has begun between the cost of the disposal certificate and the market value of the machine. This continued until the model was removed from the assembly line (2009).

What did the car attract buyers, albeit few? First of all, the availability of spare parts and components, which were relatively inexpensive. In addition, the appeal of VAZ-21053 for Russians was the possibility of its repair and maintenance on its own (in the garage, on the site, or simply "in the field"). This circumstance somewhat leveled the low demand for the car, but its prestige in the world market fell hopelessly. The machine stopped completing even the most necessary accessories, it came to the point that in early 2009, a daily mileage meter was removed from the instrument panel.

At the dead point

Model VAZ-21053, as well as its "sisters", for all the time of production has not been modernized. The exterior remained unchanged for years, the driving characteristics were also ignored by the AvtoVAZ engineering sector. No one thought of design improvements in the interior. The result of this inattention was the drop in demand, which ended with the removal from production.

Cost

The price of VAZ-21053 for all time of release did not rise above average values. Today, the car is quoted as an inexpensive means of transportation. Reviews

Reviews of the model VAZ-21053 have never been enthusiastic. The owners noted shortcomings in the gas distribution system. Especially a lot of criticism caused a belt drive camshaft, which often went out of order. During the period when the engine was fitted with a VAZ-03 and VAZ-06 engine with a chain drive, there were no such claims.

If there are positive reviews of car owners, they are related to the repair and maintenance of the car: all consumers note the relatively low prices for parts and the possibility of repair in their own garage.
