Varenikovskaya stanitsa: history and development

Varenikovskaya stanitsa is located in the Krasnodar Territory. This settlement was formed in 1862 in the Crimean region. In those ancient times, the village was part of the Taman department - an administrative unit within the Kuban region.

History of the formation of the settlement

In 1840 the reinforcement of the Black Sea border line was built Varenikovskoe fortification. His construction was handled by a military garrison. After 1860, people began actively populating these lands. As a result, the fortification gradually turned into a village. Complete conversion to the settlement occurred in 1862.

Such a sharp transformation is associated with the reorganization of the neighboring village into the city. People who did not want to become urban residents moved to the territory of Varenikovsky settlement.

Residents of the village were engaged in breeding cattle and cultivating the land. The number of people rapidly increased every year. When the Great Patriotic War broke out in 1941, 5,000 people left the village to the front.

In wartime, a large partisan detachment was working in these places. Its participants played a huge role in the denouement of actions in this territory and not only. Partisans tore up the economic and offensive plans of the Germans, so in war time the Varenikivskaya stanitsa became famous.

The village in modern times

This settlement is located 40 km from the district center. Residents call their settlement Inter-sea. This is due to the location of the village - between the Azov and Black Seas. Such an advantageous geographical position is a plus for the development of the tourist business.

The population of the settlement is about 15,000 people. There is a railway station and a factory for the production of building materials. There are many children living in the village, therefore 5 schools work on the territory of the settlement.

Varenkovskaya stanitsa has its own hospital with different specialists. There are several libraries on the territory. The residents earn basic income by processing:

  • Rice checks.

In a small cafe at the foot of the volcano, tourists are invited to try traditional dishes and herbal tea, which the Varenikovskaya village is famous for. Kuban is known for its cuisine and hospitality.

The complex "Cossack village" consists of several kurens built according to all traditions of this region. At the entrance guests meet a Cossack and a Cossack. In the kurens are equipped with Russian ovens and old traditional decorations.

Drink clean and useful water can be in the well with a crane in the yard. Tourists are offered to organize hiking and car routes along the mysterious and beautiful places of Kuban. You can make active walks on horses.
