Uric acid: its norm in the body

One of the vital elements for the normal functioning of our body are the purine bases that make up human DNA and RNA (deoxyribonucleic and ribonucleic acids are known from school). Now we will not go into the school curriculum and describe each substance - one page will not be enough, we briefly explain that these complex organic acids perform the transfer of the genetic code and are involved in protein synthesis.

This is enough to understand the importance of the work of organic compounds - without the existence of purines it is impossible to imagine the life of the human race as a biological population. The disintegration and synthesis of these bases are the constant biochemical reactions taking place in the body of every person on earth. In our liver, there is a periodic metabolism of purines, and the product of these processes is uric acid. The norm of this acid ranges from 0.35 mmol.

This substance was first discovered in a biological fluid, as a result of which it was given the name. Through the kidneys uric acid is excreted from the body, saving it from excess nitrogen, which is contained in many organs: the heart, liver, brain. In the blood plasma this acid circulates in the form of sodium urate, it directly depends on the concentration level of this microelement. With an increase in the amount of sodium urate in the human blood, uric acid is added accordingly. The norm of its content, as it was mentioned above, should not exceed 0.35 mmol (per liter of blood).

If this indicator increases, then the crystallized urates are deposited in the tissues of the body. In fact, the level of concentration of this acid in the blood has not moved far from the threshold of its crystallization, in connection with this the slightest increase in it will provoke the appearance of a solid sediment - it subsequently deposited in our body.

There are many different factors that lead to increased urate content; these can be diets rich in organic bases, diseases of the blood, kidneys, heart, as well as cancer and allergic processes and even severe toxicity during pregnancy. Most often, the main reason for the deposition of urate urate is still the abuse of alcoholic products. Crystals can form in all internal organs, but most often they settle on the joints. Their formation often leads to a pathology such as gout.

When diagnosing a person for gout, the true cause of this disease is first established. This will not only allow you to appoint the right treatment, but also to find out the presence of another disease, which can and served as the starting point for the appearance of gout. The following signs testify to the primary gout: an increase in the synthesis of uric acid, or the difficulty of its excretion.

Secondary gout is diagnosed in the presence of another disease - the rate of uric acid in the blood for all types of this disease will be increased. To treat, first of all, it is necessary not so much joints, and how much the center of an inflammation - a gout after effective therapy independently disappears. But in addition to gout, there may appear urolithiasis, which occurs when the body concentrates uric acid. The rate of urate in plasma rises sharply and leads to this pathology.

In this case, in the bladder or in the kidneys formed solid precipitation, often leading to a delay in urination. These concrements can cause inflammatory complications and can even damage the surface of the internal organs in which they are located. Diagnostic value also has a decreased uric acid. The rate should not be less than 0.15 mmol.

A low concentration of uric acid may indicate the presence of acquired or hereditary diseases. If plasma normative parameters of uric acid do not match, first of all, it is necessary to revise the diet, exclude coffee, alcohol, chocolate and include in the menu fresh vegetables (spinach, radish, asparagus).
