Update Android - the pros and cons

Android - one of the most common operating systems specifically designed for mobile phones, smartphones and tablets. Now it is used by almost all manufacturers of this equipment. Any operating system is periodically improved and improved, its individual parts are optimized. Such corrections and updates are an update of Android.

You can check for updates yourself. To do this, go to "Settings", find there the item "Software Update" and view the updated settings for updates. To check if a new version is available, click the Refresh button.

Why new versions of OS are needed

In fact, the update of Android is good and good, so do not treat it with suspicion or skepticism. As a rule, modifications make the use of the device more comfortable and quick.

Update Android is released in micro- and macroscale. Minor improvements have a capacity of up to 100 MB and are designed for individual parts of the system. They are small patches, the elimination of minor flaws, which are even invisible to the user. The purpose of such micro-actions is to improve and stabilize the work of the phone or tablet.

And larger innovations "weigh" already about 500 MB and affect the whole device. In fact, there is a small change in the OS version. Such a large-scale update of Android software can change the appearance of the system, making it simpler and more concise.

How does this happen

If your device does not need permission to receive updates by default, then each time a dialog box appears with a notification and a suggestion to install something new. You can defer downloading and installing for a while (from half an hour to two hours) or refuse to update at all.

If you selected "Install", the system will notify you that the device will be rebooted. Therefore, it is strongly recommended to close all running applications and save the necessary information, otherwise it will simply be lost. Immediately after notification, the device turns off, the screen goes blank. After a couple of seconds, it displays an image of a typical android robot, and at the bottom of the screen you will see the progress of the update process in percent. On average, the update takes 5 to 20 minutes to update the Android, after which a reboot takes place.

When the device is turned on again, it optimizes the applications to work correctly with the installed updates. The number of such applications is displayed on the screen. After this last action, a notification is displayed that the device has been successfully updated. It is recommended to reboot it so that all programs start working in normal mode.

What are the problems after

As a rule, no. After the update, some applications that are not compatible with the new version may disappear, or individual icons from the Desktop (for the same reason). There are also the emergence of new programs in the device, which will be impossible to remove later - this is provided by the developers.

As a rule, problems arise only if the firmware of the Android was performed on its own or unofficial versions of the software were used. And the guarantee for the same reason is lost, so to return the device to life will have to spend a lot of money.

How to restore the old version

When you do not like received updates, then there is a logical desire to "return, as it was." But, alas, this possibility is not provided. Unless you come to mind manually to change the firmware, but it's better not to do it. Why? See the previous section. It's better to take another look at the new OS version - maybe you just are not used to it, and after a couple of days you'll already love all the changes.
