Universal charger "Frog" - convenient and easy! Charger for batteries "Frog" - how to use and what to charge?

Charger "Frog" - a widely known universal device designed to restore the charge of lithium batteries of mobile phones and other small gadgets. With a different type of battery, this device can not be used.

Role in everyday life

Sometimes there are times when the charger from the smartphone or mobile is not at hand, it has irretrievably broken or been lost, and it is not possible to purchase it in the near future. In this case, the "Frog", a universal charger, replaces it . Alternative names - "clothespin", "jab". This device is equipped with adjustable contacts, which directly connects the battery itself, previously withdrawn from the device. Of course, such a process involves some inconveniences, connected with the permanent removal of the battery and possible malfunction of the settings, but sometimes this is the only successful way out of this situation.

Where and for what it can be used?

As mentioned above, this device is suitable for recharging most of the small-sized equipment, mainly phones and cameras. Usually the instruction is attached to the device "frog", but the problem can be the content of the brochure text in a foreign language, as these devices are mostly of Chinese origin.

Some useful information

In addition to the cellular, the charger "Frog" is able to charge the camera, PDA or navigator, but only if lithium batteries with a small capacity are used. The device is switched on to a network with a standard voltage. When the battery is fully charged, the device will automatically disconnect from the network. As a rule, it takes about two to three hours.

There are several types of "frog" devices that can be connected to various sources of electricity:

  • To a normal household outlet with a voltage of 220 volts.
  • To the automotive network - 12 volts.
  • Connect to PC via USB-port - 5 volts.

The most practical and common is the charger "frog", powered by a home network. The choice of instrument type depends on the personal preference of each.

Decoding of device designations

Each such device has several indicator lights, near which are indicated the letters that help to regulate the whole process of recharging:

  • Full, ful - indicates the full charge of the battery.
  • Charge, ch means that the charging process is in progress.
  • Power, pw - the device is connected to a power source.
  • Con-polarity is correctly defined.
  • Te - the polarity is checked.

How does the Frog charger work?

How to adjust the polarity manually? First, the battery in the charger must be clamped so that the device contacts are connected to the "-" and "+" terminals. If the battery has three or more contacts, then use the two extreme ones.

If the polarity is correctly detected when connected, the green "Con" button should light up when pressing the "Te" button on the left button, otherwise press the right "Con" button, then the "Te" again. On some devices, the "Con" LED can light up when connected without first pressing.

The most convenient models are the ones that automatically determine the polarity, respectively, they do not have the right polarity reversal button.

If everything is done correctly, the green "Con" light is on, so you can turn the device on. At this point, "Power" and "Charge" should turn on. When the battery charging process is finished, the right LED "Full" will light. Now the device can be removed from the outlet and apply the battery to its intended purpose.

Non-standard situations

If the "Con" does not light up at all, it means the battery has completely sat down, and it needs "swinging". In this case, it can be connected arbitrarily in any polarity, and then turn on the network for five minutes. If "Charge" flashes, then charging is performed correctly, if not, then you need to right-click the polarity and see how the "Charge" pointer behaves in this case.

If "Power" and "Full" start to burn right away, then the battery in the "frog" is more likely to be poorly installed, it should be more securely fixed.

The charging time varies depending on the capacity of the battery, as a rule, it takes from two to five hours:

  • 1000 mA / h - 5 hours.
  • 800 mA / h - 4 hours.
  • 500 mA / h - 2.5 hours.

How to use the "frog" charger?

The classic device is designed for 220-volt voltage, on the back of its cover there are two sliding pins, located in parallel to each other - they can be diluted to the required distance, corresponding to the distance between the contacts of the battery.

When enabled, the polarity can be adjusted manually via buttons or automatically. It all depends on which model your Frog charger is.

If the battery is completely worn out, the following situations may occur:

  • The device does not charge.
  • After switching on the network, the diode with the inscription "Full" flashes at once.
  • The battery charges too quickly, in five to ten minutes.

If you want and some skill, the charger "frog" can be built with your own hands, using a simple scheme.

Batteries with more than two contacts can be charged using the described device, but for this it will be necessary to disassemble the battery and connect the charging to it, bypassing the controller.

Following from the above, it can be understood that the "Frog" is a universal charger, very useful in case of breakdown of other power sources, small batteries, as well as the lack of possibility to charge the gadgets in the usual way, which happens quite often. At the moment, manufacturers offer all new devices equipped with a USB-port and LCD-display, which greatly simplifies their use.

The advantages of the device:

  • The presence of a USB port that allows you to charge most of the devices.
  • Easy to use.
  • Versatility.

Disadvantages:

  • Relatively short-lived with frequent use.
  • Long process of a charge of capacious accumulators.

"Frog" - the best option for a spare energy source

Despite a few shortcomings, "Frog" - a charger, the price of which is very diverse (from 60 to 650 rubles.), It is quite useful thing in the economy, if only because it is able to literally revive non-life-giving batteries of telephones and cameras . But it should be taken into account that it is necessary to use this device if necessary. Too frequent charging with the help of the "Frog" can lead to a rapid depletion of the battery and, accordingly, its failure. Paradoxically, this is so.

Despite the fact that basically these chargers are made in China, do not neglect such products. In the modern market, you can find universal and unique auxiliary devices that can significantly facilitate our life and give a second chance to details that otherwise would certainly have flown to the garbage dump. Therefore, it makes sense to have at least some idea of how to use the device "Frog" for the usual recharging of the phone battery.
