Turning of various parts
Turning seems to be a simple and understandable process. This is because the choice of the desired part is limited to existing rotation bodies, and the tool moves only in one plane. However, in reality this is not so. In the turning process, various forms of the tool used and a wide range of different technologies are used.
Technical capabilities
Turning from a technical point of view allows you to perform the following operations:
- turning and boring of the circle and forgings;
- cutting and working the plane;
- cutting grooves of different profiles;
- Tapping.
Types
There are several types of turning, namely:
- Turning metal working. This method allows you to obtain cylindrical parts due to cutting. This type of treatment is considered the most popular. To carry out such a procedure, a material of a high degree of hardness, strength, heat and wear resistance is used. Often, instrumental carbon and alloy steels, including cermet alloys, are machined on lathes .
- Drilling. This process makes it possible to make blind and through holes in metal blanks. A spiral drill is used for this .
- Boring. This procedure is used to increase the diameter of the holes in the part. Such work is carried out on vertical or horizontal boring machines.
- Planing. This procedure is carried out by means of reciprocating work of the incisors. There are longitudinal planing and cross-planing machines for this treatment.
- Stretching. This procedure allows machining the product. This tool is based on a tool with a large number of blades.
- Milling. This procedure is performed by a special effective tool with different blades or mills of different shapes.
- Grinding. Turning at the final stage is presented in the form of this procedure, which consists in grinding the surface of the product with the sharp edges of abrasive materials that remove a thin layer of metal.
Turning parts
To obtain cylindrical parts, the masters use turning parts. This procedure is carried out in the form of boring and turning cylindrical, conical and shaped surfaces, as well as trimming and processing the ends, drilling, threading. Turning parts can be carried out both on a lathe for metal, and on a lathe on wood. Everything depends on the available equipment.
Wood turning. Features and Highlights
Another important process in turning is turning the tree. To carry out this work, woodworking machines are used to grind out various figures from a cylindrical tree. Quite good tools are considered to be those machines, the working surface of which is made of high quality steel. The lathe makes it possible to produce a wide variety of products: spinning wheels, dishes, toys, other household items.
