The multi-purpose stadium "Trud", Tomsk is its homeland, was opened in the distant 1929. Despite the prescription of existence, it is still used for holding various football matches and is considered a home club of the team "Tom".

Historical background

Tomsk sport gave its sprouts back in the XIX century. But the city lacked a place where people could fully develop their sports life.

After the appearance in 1912 of the Tomsk sports club, the sporting life of the townspeople changed significantly. They started full-fledged competitions, which required a specialized place.

The construction of the stadium began. As for many sports facilities of that time, a military parade was chosen for its location. Here was a garrison, which was subsequently disbanded and in its place laid the city park.

Stadium now

Since 2016, the stadium has been used only for football games. The racing tracks that had been on it since the opening of the museum disappeared. The north and south stands are moved closer to the field, so the area of the arena slightly decreased.

As a result of the reconstruction, the eastern rostrum is closed. But there was a new modern coating around the perimeter of the field. Illumination was increased to 1,400 lux, due to the installation of new, more powerful, but practical searchlights.

A new electronic display is installed. The field was planted with a new lawn and provided the renewal of the entire heating system.

Bronze cheerleader

Not only the new field is famous for the stadium "Trud". Tomsk, on the eve of the 50th anniversary of his club, got a sculpture "The Bronze Cheerleader".

The prototype of the monument was taken from the photo archive of the club "Tom" and is embodied in bronze by the sculptor L. Usov. Initially, the "Fan" sat on the east side. But in connection with the reconstruction and unresolved judicial issue with the contractor, the monument "moved" to the podium on the south side.

Good start

In 2005, the team "Tom" successfully started in the championship of the Premier League, and in honor of this event there was a landmark that decorated the stadium "Trud". Tomsk prepared a surprise not only for the team, but for all football fans.

Sculptors Gnedykh, who are the father and son, an interesting idea was realized. The monument consists of a figure of a football player and a scroll, where the names that have made Tomsk football famous are inscribed.

In addition to the players, the teams immortalized the descendants of the coaches, sponsors and chiefs of the region. All those who helped the team achieve amazing results in the Premier League 2005.
