Three-colored cats: is luck so close?

Those who love furry creatures called "cats" probably know such a sign that the owners of three flowers bring happiness and luck to the house. It is believed that the most "happy" of them are mugs with the coat color of white, black and red flowers.

What does this mean?

Perhaps, it is this combination that explains the sign. If you look at the values of all the colors, then:

  • White symbolizes purity and innocence;
  • Red rescues from diseases (such a cat brings wealth to the owner's house);
  • Black protects from evil spirits.

When they all unite in one representative, it turns out that tricolor cats should be valued by people more than their other companions.

What do they think about the world?

In Japan, the figure of "Maneki Neko" is placed near the entrance door, so that it attracts wealth to the house, a happy fate. It is a three-colored cat that holds one paw near the ear, as if meeting a guest. According to the Japanese belief, it is believed that a greeting from the owners is a prosperity for their home.

In the countries of the Muslim religion, three-colored cats protect the house from a possible fire. In England it is a living symbol of warmth and protection. Sailors always on their ship keep such a cat as a sign of the guard against possible troubles. And fishermen consider a tricolor mirk capable of feeling better than others the likelihood of a close bad weather.

Only girls

By the way, when we say "three-colored cats", this does not mean males at all. Just the opposite. A male cat among his fluffy relatives with a similar color is a very rare phenomenon. Statistics show that for three thousand cats with three colors of wool only one male is born, for which his fate "punishes" infertility.

This genetic anomaly occurs, as a rule, only in the "female" part of the cat's "people". It is found in all mammals and is called an alternative gene by scientists. In the female body, the chromosome set looks like XX, and in the male - XY. However, in a female chromosome, in one of X, there may be signs that not only determine the sex, but also others, possibly unfavorable. So they are masked by an alternative gene, which in cats is poured into a three-color color.

On the question of whether there are three-colored cats in the breed of tortoiseshell cats, you can answer unequivocally-no. It is because the males do not have a second chromosome X.

Among which breeds are found?

Three-colored cats are mostly mongrel creatures. Similar colors of wool are divided into two types:

  • "Calico" - dominated by red and black colors;
  • "Harlequin" - the cat is all white, only the sixth part of her body has other colors (usually on the muzzle, back and tail).

The fact that there are three-colored cats are, we know, but they are very rare. This is confirmed by the fact that in one American city a kitten was born, namely a male with three colors of wool. He is in the Society for the Protection of Animals and is waiting for his "adoption".

Take care of them!

So, dear readers and fans of furry creatures, be attentive to them! After all, three-colored cats are a rarity, and the same cats are happiness and luck. And who does not want to be happy?
