"The Mosque of Notre Dame": a novel-warning

In 2005, a book was published that was called "The Mosque of the Notre Dame of Paris". This publication immediately attracted domestic and foreign readers and caused a lot of controversy. The very name and genre of this work were very unusual, hence the polarity of the submitted reviews.

Consider the content of this novel in more detail.

What is this work?

Elena Chudinova's book The Notre Dame Mosque was written under the impression of a travel writer in Europe, when she was struck by the number of Muslim immigrants who were walking about the historic center of Paris with a contented look.

The novel is written in the genre of anti-utopia, it is a warning of a writer who is a Christian, the whole of the European Christian world. Chudinova herself calls her work a "novel-mission."

Today this book is published not only in Russian, but also in many European languages. For a long time it was not published in France, referring to the fact that this text is not politically correct. But now there is her French edition.

After a while, in 2011, this book was filmed by the national director Vladimir Sinelkov.

The plot of the novel

The novel takes place around 2048. At this time, almost all of France becomes a Muslim country: the immigrants who arrived at the beginning of the century completely took power in their hands and enslaved the primordial population. Muslims judge the new French according to Sharia law, forcibly force people of Western European origin to accept Islam.

All those who want to remain a Christian are driven into the ghetto with terrible conditions of detention. The pride and heart of Paris - the cathedral of the Notre Dame - turned into a mosque.

However, there are people who are ready to resist the existing order of things. The French resistance is led by a woman who was born in Russia. Her name is Sofia Sevazmiou-Greenberg. It unites around itself Catholics, who understand that their struggle is likely to end in defeat, but they want to bring this fight to the end.

A group of Catholics seizes the Mosque of Notre Dame from Muslims, the priest re-consecrates the cult structure, and it again turns into a Christian temple. After the mass here, Catholics themselves blow up the cathedral.

By the way, in Elena Chudinova's book The Mosque of Notre Dame, it is clear and understandable for readers that liberalism, excessive tolerance, destruction of the principles of the Catholic faith and loss of interest in the world of traditional values have become the reason for the Muslims' victory over Catholic France.

Readers' comments

In Russia this work was met in different ways. Some readers saw in it a prophecy about the events that await tolerant France and other countries of the European world, others criticized the book for being too harsh towards Islam.

In the Orthodox environment, assessments also differed. There were priests who talked about the book The Mosque of the Notre Dame of Paris as an important work necessary for reading, other representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church believed that this book could kindle enmity between Russian Muslims and Russian Christians.

Chudinov. "The Mosque of Notre Dame": author's reading of the text

The writer herself willingly gives interviews, in which she tells what inspired her to write the novel. In particular, it points out that it is in the sectarian Islamic movements that there is quite a strong aggression directed against the majority of ordinary people. Wahhabi terrorists blow up planes, kill innocent people, they are cruel and bloodthirsty.

In her opinion, the first under the blows of this terrible and strong Muslim sectarian current can fall France - a country in which the ideas of liberalism were born.

The final of his work, when a huge cathedral takes off into the air, Elena Chudinova treats as an event, something reminiscent of the disappearance of the wonderful city of Kitezh, who went under the water not to fall into ungodly hands. The writer says that the ending of her work is deeply tragic.

Modern understanding of the events described in the book

After the first edition of the book, she was judged more critically than today. At this stage, the book "The Mosque of the Notre Dame" finds enough readers who are concerned about the growth of Islamic radicalism in European countries. The situation with immigrants from Muslim countries in recent years has deteriorated significantly, the most terrible predictions began to come true.

This makes Elena Chudinova's book more popular. Some critics say that the writer managed to see what the Europeans did not understand 10 years ago.

How much this work will be useful for people after decades, today it is difficult to say. It depends, first of all, on how realistic are the forecasts about the Muslim cultural invasion of Europe.
