The fire hose is an important means of combating the elements

There are a large number of various emergencies that can lead to negative consequences and even the death of many people. Especially it concerns large industrial enterprises or multi-apartment houses. One of the most common and dangerous emergencies is a fire.

Fire can occur anywhere and at any time, because the reasons for its occurrence are very diverse. It can be an electrical lock, a thrown cigarette butt or an inadvertent handling of fire. Therefore, it is very important to have at your disposal a sufficient number of fire extinguishing agents. High-quality fire fighting equipment will significantly improve the safety of people and property.

And one of the main means of firefighting was and remains the fire hose. The main thing is that it should be qualitative and reliable, as the spheres of its application are too diverse. The fire hose is used to ensure safety at industrial facilities, in trains or public institutions.

Structure of the fire hose

The fire hose is a long and flexible fire extinguisher equipped with connecting heads. It is used to deliver a special mixture or water to the place of fire. Mixtures are supplied by pressure injection from road tankers, hydrants, cranes or motor pumps.

A qualitative fireman's sleeve is made of a special tarpaulin, which is impregnated with the necessary compounds. It can also be made from synthetic fabrics. The main condition is that they can withstand a high pressure, which reaches a value well above one megapascal. In addition, the fire hose has a polymer or rubber coating inside. This provides him with an additional watertightness, and also makes it more resistant to external factors. Also sometimes the sleeves are reinforced from the outside. All of them require mandatory drying after use.

Types of fire hoses

All fire hoses are divided into three main types. Pressure hoses are flexible. They are used to deliver water under pressure. They have a length of fifteen meters and a diameter of twenty-five millimeters.

  • Suction hoses are stiff, they are used for water intake by means of a pump. They have a length of up to four meters and a diameter of seventy-five millimeters. Finally, the pressure-suction sleeves are usually soft. They combine the properties of the two above-mentioned species. They have a length of up to four meters and a diameter of seventy-five millimeters.

Safety first

The main rule is that safety does not happen much. It is much easier to entrust your fire safety to quality products that will not fail at the most crucial moment, than to deal with the consequences of the emergency situations that have occurred. Fire hoses are a mandatory fire fighting device in any public, industrial and industrial buildings.
