The drug "Levolety". Instructions

"Levot P" belongs to the category of fluoroquinolones. The drug has a bactericidal, antimicrobial effect. The active ingredient is levofloxacin. The active substance is active against many aerobic gram-positive, gram-negative microorganisms.

The drug is prescribed for infectious-inflammatory lesions in the middle and mild degrees of flow. Such pathologies include community-acquired pneumonia, prostatitis (bacterial, including), tuberculosis in drug-resistant forms (in combination with other drugs), uncomplicated and complicated infections in the urinary tract. "Levolete" instruction recommends for intra-abdominal lesions. The drug in the tablet form can additionally be prescribed for acute sinusitis and other infections of the ENT organs, soft tissues and skin, and lower parts in the respiratory tract.

No medication is prescribed for hypersensitivity, children and adolescents (up to the age of eighteen), epilepsy, lesions in the tendons, in connection with the use of quinolones in history, lactation, pregnancy.

With caution "Levolet" the instruction recommends that patients in advanced age, persons with deficiency of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, should be prescribed.

The use of the drug can provoke leukopenia, eosinophilia, thrombocytopenia, pancytopenia, severe agranulocytosis, hemolytic anemia, neutropenia.

Negative effects include diarrhea, dysbacteriosis, nausea, eating and digestive disorders, abdominal pain, hepatitis (extremely rare).

In some cases, tachycardia, vascular collapse, lowering of blood pressure, headache, drowsiness, stiffness in movements, dizziness, depression, hallucinations were observed. Rare are visual disturbances, taste, tactile sensitivity, smell.

Reception of the drug can cause hypercranotynia, a disorder of kidney activity before acute failure, hypoglycemia (in the form of a sharp increase in appetite, tremors, sweating, nervousness), in the presence of porphyria - exacerbation (in some cases).

Rarely, patients have lesions, ruptures in the tendons, pain, weakness in the muscles and joints.

Reception "Levoleta" can cause redness, itching, anaphylactoid reactions, toxic necrolysis (epidermal), vasculitis, erythema multiforme exudative, allergic pneumonitis.

It should be noted that more side effects are extremely rare and very short-lived. However, if you continue to have adverse reactions over a long period, you should contact your doctor. It may be necessary to adjust the dosage or cancel the drug.

When using medicines in large quantities, convulsions, nausea, erosive lesions in the mucous membranes of the digestive tract, confusion in the mind, dizziness arise. Therapy is symptomatic.

Dosage (with intravenous administration) is determined in accordance with the severity and nature of the pathology, the sensitivity of the instigated infection of the microorganism.

The tablet form of the drug is prescribed primarily before meals (or in between meals). It is recommended not to chew, swallow, drink with sufficient volume of water.

The average dosage is from 250 to 500 mg per day. Duration of therapy can be different - from seven to fourteen days. When carrying out complex treatment of tuberculosis, the drug can be prescribed in an amount of 500 to 1000 mg per day. The duration of therapy is about three months.
